Guardians trade Josh Bell to Miami for Jean Segura and Kahlil Watson

With the 30-year-old switch-hitter now residing in south beach, this move now gives the Guards the flexibility at the DH spot without the obligation of Bell's contract hanging over their heads. It might be a stunning move to many, but Josh Bell always had value; it might not have been what the Guardians wanted, but someone would be willing to take it on. In his career, he has been an above-average hitter, and with this year being more of an anomaly than his usual production, it's not surprising to see the Marlins, who are contending for a wild card spot, take a flier on him.As for the return, Khalil Watson was the 12th-ranked prospect in the Marlins system, according to MLB Pipeline. Another middle infield prospect that the Guardians have stockpiled for years, who, in the grand scheme of things, is a lottery ticket that'll now reside in Lake County.
