Ohio State hires Taver Johnson to replace Kerry Coombs

Kerry Coombs will be tough to replace, but Urban Meyer seems to have made a home-run hire, bringing back former Ohio State cornerbacks coach and most recently Temple defensive coordinator Taver Johnson, who was the cornerbacks coach on Jim Tressel's staff in Columbus from 2007-11.

Kendall Sheffield could be the next first-round pick as a cornerback at #DBU

If he reaches full potential this fall, Kendall Sheffield could be the next Buckeye cornerback to get selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, following in the footsteps of plenty of great Ohio State cornerbacks over the past few years.
