It’s Rivalry Weekend. It’s The Game. It’s the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the Michigan Wolverines. If that doesn’t get you hyped up enough for Saturday’s game in Ann Arbor, well, I don’t know what to tell ya.
In case you aren’t ready or amped up yet, though, Ohio State’s video and graphics team is once again here to save the day, like usual. With yet another fantastic video trailer leading up to the rivalry game, the Buckeyes delivered once again with yet another epic piece of video.
The video begins with The Best Damn Band In The Land playing some music for nearly 75 seconds. Then, speaker Derrick Moore uses his voice to get all of us ready for the 2019 version of The Game.
“There is beauty in this game we call football,” Moore says. “The sites. The sounds, The pageantry. Some may even call this game an art form. This game….is a fight that only the tough survive.
“There is no harmony in this rivalry’s refrain. Only clashes of speed and strength and will. Movements that build to a crescendo and will be written in history.”
Unlike in past videos so far this season, this trailer barely uses any highlights from this season. Instead, it has a bunch of highlights from the Ohio State-Michigan games of years past. Showing some of the best highlights for the Buckeyes in past matchups between the two teams, it gives us a good look at the history of the rivalry. It means so much more than just one game or one win.
The Ohio State Buckeyes. That Team Up North. The Greatest Rivalry in Sport. Let’s do this.
Former head coach Urban Meyer summed it up perfectly.
