The best part of the Indians start has been…the bullpen?

April 4, 2019This website is not the only place writers at WFNY offer their insights and analysis. Twitter is a popular forum for many of our scribes to pen their quick reactions and thoughts about the 2019 Cleveland Indians; some of which become the basis for future columns. Follow our writers on that platform (see first tweet below for usernames), but here are some of the best from the past week– 280 characters at a time.
Opening Day follows

The best Tribe podcast out there is The @DeryBrosTribe cast. Episode 8 is out now on all the feeds and here via the web. https://t.co/6f4eJoRL9z @TD1TribeKU @DerySpeaks @WFNYCLE #Tribe #MLB #Indians #RallyTogether pic.twitter.com/FwycUkRprf

Francona is 181 wins behind Lou Boudreau for most in team history. He should easily blow by that as well.

Had a few people speculate Tito is sending a message to the FO – but he’s the one that wouldn’t play Yandy. That constantly played Aviles and Mike Martinez. He could be playing Greg Allen right now. Tito is closer to the problem than the solution. https://t.co/n1lIZCeciI

6 winning seasons, 3 division titles, 4 postseason appearances, 1 World Series appearance, and 547 wins later, here we are. Couldn't be happier that he's going to be around a little longer.

Six months ago he was fighting for his life, and now he’s leading off and starting in center field on Opening Day. Incredible. https://t.co/CUEh36bZ44

.211/.286/.421 (90 wRC+) – that is the really small sample of Jordan Luplow's "success" against left-handed pitching in 2018 (42 PA)
Expect him to be shifted on defense as ALL of his ground balls were hit to the left side of the infield. Much better spray chart when ball in air. pic.twitter.com/TP6fceTnL4

If the the Tribe is telling us the division is a lock even with this roster, why aren’t Mercado, Chang, Haase, and Allen playing more? Compete and develop at the same time! Know what you need at the deadline!

Did Ollie Perez watch a whole bunch of @PitchingNinja timing GIFs in the off-season??

Carlos Carrasco should maybe consider not throwing so many pitches in that blue area pic.twitter.com/aTXLWNqZ5v

Indians Twitter hates the Indians.

Oh Carlos how I’ve missed you #indians

Early results from BaseballSavant (using Statcast) show that Carlos Santana is smoking the ball (average exit velocity of 97mph).
The hits are not even in the most optimal range of the chart (red, pink), but he's hitting it hard enough to find ways through and on base. pic.twitter.com/GOPGi9chfA

If we’re being honest, Dorn putting the red card in Vaughn’s locker was a pretty solid joke.

So we have nothing new to announce despite announcing yesterday that we would have an announcement today so check back in 7-10 days when we will have yet another announcement https://t.co/DOA4jhqwfo

Roberto Perez .417 expected wOBA but .063 actual wOBA … by far biggest discrepancy among Indians players.
See embedded below… if he keeps hitting it like he has, he will see better results. https://t.co/GuoAR1OtGL

Ketchup has more hits than Tyler Naquin.

Trevor. Bauer. His mental makeup (on the field 😂) after making problems for himself is impressive.
— Craig Lyndall (@WFNYCraig) March 30, 2019
Last week I wrote about @Mike_Anthony13's 2018 adjustment of throwing two-strike fastballs up in the zone.
Here's how his two-strike fastball approach looked in yesterday's gem #indians: pic.twitter.com/VbIQmadeAR

Have a suspicion that 3-0 deficits are going to feel much, much larger this season.
— Scott @ WFNY (@WFNYScott) March 31, 2019
Naquin's only hit this year came when a pitcher messed up. Threw him a fastball low. Even out of the zone, Naquin can drive those with his somewhat upper cut swing.
And @Corey_Barnes talks about his season herehttps://t.co/W8jVE9tw6f pic.twitter.com/ghP2oQj7hj

As a last thought, I'll say this: it's hard sometimes to see the plusses of Francona, little lessons he teaches of the long run of a season, whereas it's easy to see the failures. So I'm going to take solace in knowing that he is managing the ship for the forseeable future.
— Joe Gerberry (@THEGerbsWFNY) April 3, 2019
that’s not Corey Kluber, that’s Ozzie Guillen in a Kluber mask it’s so obvious guys
— Mitchell Krall (@mlkrall) April 3, 2019
this indians season is like marrying the super hot girl who doesn't wash the dishes and just stacks them up in the sink and then one day they all fall and they crash on the floor and you just wanna scream https://t.co/O9jDT3p5U7
— Joe Gerberry (@THEGerbsWFNY) April 3, 2019
this Indians season is like Mina Kimes's Mariners season except two years later. now mr/ms perfect is overweight, disappointing, and emptying your bank account. you’re only still with them because you know you can’t do better https://t.co/6LrpJErLw6
— Mitchell Krall (@mlkrall) April 3, 2019
So far, this Indians season is like when you get engaged to someone who everyone seems to hate but you don't care because you are in love and see all the positives your friends are ignoring. https://t.co/alkEg0pnSH
