It’s (finally) college football season, you guys! Football season is by far the best season, but considering the ugliness that has surrounded the Ohio State Buckeyes football program over the past couple months, the fact that the season is finally here seems like a good thing for Buckeye Nation. Scarlet and gray fans look forward to fall every year, but it seems as though they were looking forward to this season kicking off even more than usual. The seven-month-long offseason seems long enough, but with everything that went on in Columbus this offseason, it felt even longer.
In case you weren’t already looking forward to the Buckeyes’ season opener Saturday afternoon, the program’s graphic and video team has yet again done an outstanding job. In a video filled with plenty of highlights from offseason workouts, it’s clear that the 2018 college football season is ready to kick off.
Much like last season, the overall message for this season seems to be all about “Brotherhood” and to “Long live the Brotherhood”, as the beginning of the video alludes to.
“It’s in the midst of adversity you find out what your character’s all about, so the whole world can see who we are – who the true Buckeyes are. …It’s the Buckeyes against the world, men. It’s the Buckeyes against the world.”
Ohio State’s opener against the Oregon State Beavers will most likely be a blowout, but football is back in Columbus. That’s all that matters, right? Hopefully, you didn’t run through a wall after watching the video, even though it most likely made you want to do so. This year’s squad could be the most talented one since head coach Urban Meyer arrived in Columbus in 2012. They may also be the most motivated.
The Buckeyes and Beavers are set to kick off at 12:07 p.m. ET on Saturday.
