The Cleveland Browns have rebuilt both of their lines over the last two offseasons, and look poised to turn those units intro strengths for the 2017 season. Jeff Nomina and Joe Gerberry discuss these improved units, as well as the addition of Jabrill Peppers in part two of their Browns video series (part one discussing the quarterback competition can be found here).
On offense, the additions of J.C. Tretter and Kevin Zeitler on the interior should bolster a unit that already features All-Universe left tackle Joe Thomas and the solid Joel Bitonio. Gerberry singled out Shon Coleman as the guy to watch on the line, as he could fortify the unit as one of the best in the league.
On the defensive line, the Browns added promising youngsters in Carl Nassib and Emmanuel Ogbah last offseason and saw a breakout from second-year defensive tackle Danny Shelton. With solid play from those three, the addition of super duper prospect Myles Garrett could turn a former weakness into a strength.
Jeff and Joe also discuss the defense as a whole, how the linebacking corp has rounded into shape and how Jabrill Peppers’ addition can help strengthen what is most likely the weakest unit. Peppers’ is a difficult prospect to peg, and Joe attempts to project what we can expect from the rookie this year.
