November 11, 2016Three of the last four weeks have featured games against ranked opponents for the Ohio State Buckeyes, while the other game was one that was against an opponent that some thought the scarlet and gray could possibly have a hard time with. This weekend, the Bucks are set to travel to Maryland to take on the Terrapins in a game that isn’t supposed to be close. In fact, many odds makers have Ohio State as at least 28-point favorites.
While Buckeye Nation may have a hard time getting amped for a game like this one, Ohio State’s video and graphic team did their best to get the fans anxious, pumped up, and ready for Saturday afternoon.
With a dominating win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers last week in a game that featured plenty of big-time plays on both sides of the ball, there were plenty of highlights to choose from even before you include the previous eight games of the season.
The video begins with the team getting pumped up in the locker room while making sure their throwback uniforms they wore last week fit just right. Then, following their run down the tunnel and the laser show, they run out to the field, led by an Army member carrying a United State flag.
Whether it’s quarterback J.T. Barrett, running back Mike Weber, H-backs Curtis Samuel and Dontre Wilson, or safety Malik Hooker, among others, plenty of players donning the scarlet and gray are featured in the video that is filled with tons of hard-hitting, touchdown-making, helmet-jarring, highlight reel-type plays by the Buckeyes.
Near the end of the video, three statements are shown; statements that head coach Urban Meyer and the rest of the coaching staff have likely reminded the players of since the beginning of the season: For your families, For your unit, For your brothers. If you play for those three things, good things are going to happen.
Meyer knows exactly how to get his team ready, no matter who their opponent is. Whether it’s the national championship game or a game that Ohio State should win by a wide margin, Meyer’s group will always be prepared and ready to dominate their opponent.
“When I needed you the most, you did your very best,” Urban Meyer echoed to his team during the trailer.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
