April 20, 2016FirstEnergy Stadium to Host Final USWNT Olympic Tune-Up June 5
April 20, 2016It’s been an interesting season for the reigning Eastern Conference champions. Cleveland secured the top seed in the East by winning 57 games, but its path to those 57 victories was very intriguing. After a 30-11 start, ownership opted to part ways with head coach David Blatt. Blatt, who won the Eastern Conference in first full season, was relieved of his duties and was replaced by Tyronn Lue who benefits from having the trio of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving at his disposal. Each of these three players shined individually during stretches of the season, but fans still don’t know whether they can play well enough together to win an NBA Championship.
At first glance, Cleveland’s path to the NBA Finals doesn’t appear to be as difficult as last year’s road. Chicago and Washington did not make the playoffs and Cleveland won’t have to play either Toronto or Miami until the Eastern Conference Finals. The Detroit Pistons, who are coached by Stan Van Gundy, have an apparent coaching edge, but lack the talent to truly compete against LeBron and Co. Regardless, ticket prices on the secondary market are set at higher levels for each round of the playoffs. On TiqIQ, Cavaliers vs. Pistons tickets for Game 2, which will be played on Wednesday, April 20,, start at $28. Fans traveling to the game can find great travel deals on Hipmunk as hotels in Cleveland start at $89. Fans hoping to attend Games 3 and 4 in Detroit can also find great deals on Hipmunk with flights to Detroit, from Cleveland, starting at $159.
If Cleveland is able to advance, Eastern Conference Semifinals tickets for Game 1 start at $50, while Eastern Conference Finals tickets for Game 1 start at $235. NBA Finals tickets for Cleveland’s first home game, which would likely be Game 3, start at $435. Given the state of the Cavaliers and their potential Eastern Conference opponents, fans should expect another trip back to the NBA Finals. A rematch of last year’s NBA Finals between the Cavaliers and Warriors seems likely. If this matchup happens, fans will be eager to see if Cleveland can derail Golden State’s record breaking season.
