Ball Played: Tribe cooled off, shut out, and back below .500

September 16, 2015With the NBA regular season starting in about a month and a half, the Cleveland Cavaliers are making some changes in their front office. Former Cavalier guard Trajan Langdon will replace Raja Bell as the team’s Director of Player Administration, according to Northeast Ohio Media Group’s Chris Haynes.
Following a 12-year NBA career, Bell joined Cleveland’s front office before the 2014-15 season. He has now decided to step away after his first season with the team to spend more time with his family.
“I had so much fun with those boys and the Cavaliers organization, but it was just time to be with my family,” Bell told Haynes. “It was the right thing to do right now, but I definitely enjoyed my time there.”
Langdon, who was drafted by the Cavaliers with the 11th overall pick in the 1999 draft, spent three seasons in Cleveland before taking his game overseas. The 39-year-old — the first Alaskan to ever play in the NBA — averaged 5.4 points and 1.3 assists in his three-year stint in the NBA. Langdon played one season with CSKA Moscow as a teammate of Cavaliers center Sasha Kaun, who recently signed a two-year deal with the Cavs.
What exactly does the Director of Player Administration do, you may ask? Among Bell’s duties was the thankless job of informing players that they have been traded. Bell was the guy who told Dion Waiters that he was being sent to Oklahoma City, taking him away from warm-ups and into the locker room to deliver the news in Waiters’ hometown of Philadelphia.
Before deciding to return to the Cavaliers, Langdon was a scout for the San Antonio Spurs, a job that he has held since retiring from basketball overseas. Langdon will work directly under General Manager David Griffin. Along with telling players that they have been traded, he will also organize travel plans and handle player ticket requests, among other things.

This can’t possibly be a bad thing. 🙂
A good portion of the Cavs roster reads like a character list for the new Star Wars movie.
So, is Andy Jar Jar?
No. People like Andy.
See Browns and Indians fans the Cavs have their own horrible draft picks too. The Alaskan Assassin those were the days.
wait, so Bell was the one who converted Dion into the Islamic faith, and then back again? No wonder they canned him. Stay in your lane, Trajan. Stick with “Here’s your tickets” or “Be in the lobby at 11:00” or “That’s ‘per diem,’ not ‘for dem.’ “
