August 6, 2015Train like a Brown. Play like a Brown. Smell like a Brown? This season it’s a thing, as the Cleveland Browns have stocked the team’s training camp showers with body wash from Montez Renault — a company co-owned by linebacker Karlos Dansby.
“It’s a good product, man,” Dansby said Wednesday. “It’s a great product, as a matter of fact.” It must be, as Men’s Health named Montez Renault its “Body Wash of the Year” in June.
“Did surprise me? Yes,” Dansby said, “because you got to understand there’s so many brands out there now that are great. For my brand to win the Body Wash of the Year Award, out of 600-some products, that’s saying a lot.”

The company is named after the middle names of Dansby (Montez) and his business partner, former NFL player Chris (Renault) Butler. The pair has owned Butler’s Grooming Club, a men’s grooming lounge inside a Saks Fifth Avenue in Birmingham for almost five years, giving them an opportunity to learn the kinds of grooming products men preferred, and ultimately inspiring them to make their own.
Montez Renault products contain natural ingredients like jojoba, aloe, and green tea, and are free of parabens and sulfates. According to Dansby, the brand’s 3-in-1 Performance Wash took more than two years to develop. Dansby told GQ the body wash will be in the Browns’ training camp facility, as well as in the home and visitors locker rooms at FirstEnergy Stadium this season.
If you’re interested in buying a bottle — and really, who isn’t? — they sell for $20 each on montezrenault.com.

I like to think that the whole team is just grabbing his bottle of Old Spice out his locker. But this is a cool story, too.
Oh, does it kill Staph bacteria?
Gilbert better be using lot’s of it, because he stinks.
I love the smell of desperation in the morning!
