May 15, 2015While we aren’t positive where Browns first round draft pick will play on the offensive line, it seems he will be signed and ready in order to figure that out. Adam Caplan reports via sources that the Browns have come to terms with one of their newest potential starters on the offensive line.

Isn’t it so much fun with the new rookie deals being slotted? Guys get signed and get into camp. While they don’t make as much money as they used to, in a capped league, that works well to make sure veterans who have proven themselves can make more for longer.
We’ll get the exact details on Cameron Erving’s contract soon enough, but in the meantime, it’s worth noting that last year’s number 19 pick – offensive tackle to the Dolphins Ju”Wuan James – received $8.4 million over four years with $4.45 million guaranteed. So that’s pretty compelling considering it’s the same draft position and both offensive linemen.
Of course we know better than to assume anything is officially official until it’s announced by the Browns or the league. Danny Shelton, the number 12 pick, has yet to finalize his deal with the Browns even as details leaked that he’d agreed.
UPDATE: Mary Kay Cabot, who disputed the reports of the Browns having signed Danny Shelton, has confirmed Adam Caplan’s report that the Browns have signed Cameron Erving. So, you have to think that this isn’t like Shelton and Erving truly is finished haggling.

The Browns’ video of a day in CLE with Cameron Erving is really cool. He’s genuinely excited to come to CLE and be a Brown. Really cool and nice to see.

Now that the Browns have come to terms with him, we just need half of the fanbase to come to terms with him.
