Are You (Playoff) Experienced?
April 13, 2015Ohio State extends Urban Meyer until 2020
April 13, 2015Playoff basketball is back in Cleveland and the excitement for it was definitely shown on Monday morning. The Cavs will be hosting their first playoff games at Quicken Loans Arena since 2010. The Cavs placed the first two home playoff games on sale for the fans who registered for Playoff Access. The sale only lasted a matter of minutes. The tickets went on sale at 9 am on Monday and in just a couple minutes, fans had ravaged the sale, causing both games to sell out instantly. I personally tried to purchase tickets at 9:15 and all I got was nothing. Some even say that the tickets were all sold out in a matter of seconds.
So, the @cavs single game playoff ticket lottery thing was a real letdown.
9:00:45, and no tickets available.

The funny thing about the sale is that there is no set schedule or opponent yet for Round 1 of the playoffs. Many believe that the first game will be on Sunday because of the draw of the Cavs, but it is still not set in stone, when these games will take place. Also, the Cavaliers are still waiting to see who they will play in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The team clinched the second seed in the East last week, so they will play the seventh seed in Round 1. At this moment, the Boston Celtics hold the seventh seed, but with a week to go in the regular season, the seventh spot is far from set. The Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers are only one game back from the the Celtics. The Cavs Round 1 opponent is still up for grabs.
As the sale of the first two playoff games shows, Cleveland is ready for playoff basketball and so are Cavs for that matter. The Cavs are in full chill mode till the start of the playoffs. On Sunday, the Cavs elected to rest four of their five starters versus the Boston Celtics. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and J.R. Smith all sat out the road game and it showed in the final score with the Cavs losing 117-78 to the Celtics. In terms of the last week of the regular season, not much matters except staying healthy. The playoffs can not come soon enough.

Gotta take the bad with the good look on the bright side there will be plenty of places to watch the game on television at least!
We can only go up from here after the past weekend!

There has to be a way to interfere with this sort of thing. I know the Cavs attempted, at least during the season, but I’m surprised sports leagues don’t work harder to ensure all the available ticket money ends up in their coffers instead of these third parties’.
I thought all tickets for the playoffs were required to go through Flash Seats? How are these people selling tickets elsewhere? [Edit: nevermind, apparently a lot of these websites let you sell tickets even if you just have them as Flash Seats, which is sketchy as all get out.]
I don’t know. I thought that was the case as well, but these sites are listing tickets for sale. Maybe they did buy them through flash seats? Won the ticket lottery? Special allotment from the team? Your guess is as good as mine.
Well, and Flash Seats is just part of the problem, too, but Dan Gilbert still gets a cut there:
