Observations of the QB, WR and RB groups at the NFL Scouting Combine
February 21, 2015Observations of the Defensive Line and Linebackers at the NFL Scouting Combine
February 22, 2015JR Smith and Iman Shumpert returned to New York for the first time since being dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers. While the two played a large role in the Cavs’ eventual 101-83 thumping of the Knicks (combining for 21 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists) no play will be watched more than the fourth-quarter alley-oop that resulted in Smith going all Harold Minor while in the middle of a game, finishing with a double-pump reverse slam.
The game overall was a chock full of highlights: Blocked shots, transition plays, Kyrie Irving being Kyrie Irving… This play, however, will be the one you see on SportsCenter’s Top 10 on Monday morning. Make sure to pay special attention to LeBron James’ reaction. Just when you think these guys couldn’t be having any more fun.

GOOD LAWD
Shumpert has got to be the happiest, smiliest Cav since, I don’t know, maybe Damon Jones.
Speaking of whom, anyone know why fat Damon now apparently sits on the Cavs bench, even on road trips? He’s not a named assistant coach, he’s 50 pounds and 5 years past his player sell-by date, but he’s right there in the first row and walking onto the floor to congratulate players while staffers sit in the second. Guess LeBron really is the most powerful man in sports.
He’s the “shooting consultant” for the Cavs and Charge.
I’ll assume you’re serious. I know he’s tight with LeBron. Chris Jent used to travel with the team to massage LeBron’s jumper but he was an actual assistant coach, second row variety. If Gloria walks onto the floor waving a towel at the start of a time out against Detroit don’t be telling me she’s “huddle consultant” for Cleve and Canton.
Very serious. He stands in the human tunnel as well during intros.
Was JR giving Spike Lee some stank after that dunk? Looked like he was glaring a bit at the first row, and if my memory serves that’s where Spike sits.
Twitter seemed to think it was a glare at Dolan himself who was sitting front row.
If so, even better.
That would be a million times cooler, yes.
This was without a doubt the best in-game dunk of the year.
Jefferson’s obliteration of MKG disqualified due to foul.
That’s what it feels like to be on the giving side for once.
