Cleveland Browns logo anger plus music talk – WFNY Podcast – 2015-02-25
February 27, 2015The Cleveland Browns and their Chronic Credibility Crisis
February 27, 2015While we are all still waiting for a Cleveland Cavaliers-based colorway to hit shelves, Kyrie Irving’s days spent at Duke University are featured in the latest edition of the Kyrie 1 which Nike has dubbed “Brotherhood.”
Irving’s collegiate career began in Durham, N.C., in 2010. Though he only played in a handful of games thanks to a foot injury, Irving built special memories and friendships that will last a lifetime, not even including his ever-lethal jump stop move in the lane that was a product of Coach K.
From Nike:
The new Kyrie 1 Brotherhood basketball shoe reflects the three-time All-Star’s appreciation for the camaraderie and leadership lessons he gained in college and brings to the court as a professional. The shoe’s blue-and-black color makeup is a tribute to his university.
Through his 11 games with the Blue Devils, Irving shot 53.2 percent while averaging 17.4 points, 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. The shoes are without any actual Duke logos, and the closet things get to outwardly referring to the university comes in the use of a Blue Devils pitchfork on the matching shirt, but Nike has made no attempt to hide the fact that this shoe is 100 percent inspired by his days in Durham.
Shrouded entirely in a black upper, the Leo Chang-created Brotherhood shoe comes with Lyon Blue, Anthracite and Metallic Silver being featured throughout. Like the rest of the Kyrie 1s, this comes complete with 360-degree dynamic traction, Zoom Air and lockdown fit. A coordinating T-shirt and hat will be available at nike.com and select retail locations globally on March 12. The shoe itself will retail for $110.

So much hate for Duke, but…these are slick. And here I thought I was done with my shoe-buying binge for a while.
Managed to get hold of the All Stars. If work didn’t require dress shoes, I’d wear them daily.
Ha ha, yeah “days” is right.
But a marketing opportunity is a marketing opportunity, so Nike might as well fleece a few more Dookies if they can.
Ha ha, yeah “days” is right.
Well done.
Count me out, the blue and black colorway is always like nails on a chalkboard for me.
You should still wear them.
You never know when a full blown waste paper basketball game could erupt in the office and you need to freak some nasty crossover for your team.
Still want to pick those up. My favorite release of his yet.
Better to save them for the annual faculty-student hoops game at the end of the year. Gotta be ready to take it to those young bloods

Ha haaaa! When I was a high school senior, I was asked to play in the annual year-end senior-faculty basketball game. I laughed at the prospect. God, we’re going to slaughter these old dudes.
The old dudes won something like 58-30.
+1 for “I get buckets”
Had a similar experience in my high school days as well. Humbling, to say the least! Much like trying to run with my old man and his buddies back then. On the faculty side, we’ve had a good run in my time here–having several athletic 20-somethings in their first few years of teaching helped quite a bit. But turnover has left the pool of willing participants smaller in recent years. The matchup a couple years back with a team featuring several of our state title winning seniors was especially rough. I’d say this year’s matchup should be a pick ’em.
