Browns may pursue QB Josh McCown
February 18, 2015Video: Mike Pettine speaks to the media at the NFL Combine
February 18, 2015Earlier today we mentioned the Cleveland Browns interest in a 2014 Tampa Bay Buccaneer, and they have now signed one.1 The Browns announced that they signed defensive back Varmah Sonie, who was on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad for the last two weeks of last season.
The report also mentions that the 5-foot-8, 180-pound cornerback from the Northern Iowa Panthers is also a former Arena Football player:
The Burnsville, Minn. native also appeared in 17 games last year with the Portland Thunder of the Arena Football League and recorded nine interceptions.
Sonie also gained some renown from an unfortunate incident in college where he was involved in a brawl and was stabbed just hours after sealing a Panther win with an interception. He made a full recovery from his injuries and went on to be a team captain his senior year.

Guess we needed someone to match height with Gabriel and Hawkins during practice.
[Slow down, bode, no need to try to match your profligate commenting pace with a correspondence number of articles! This thing’s a marathon, not a sprint.]
What? Noone told me about a marathon.

Five.foot.eight.
Can he return punts?
Poor WFNY editors. They’re like “maybe start on a piece about this” and Bode’s like “no prob … and just so happen to have 78 or 79 other pieces ready to go, on this, on that …”
The man (if he’s really a man) clearly does not sleep.

Hermione Granger comes to mind…
MG’s already submitted Mock Draft version 1 through 900 for review.
whoa, wait a sec. The instantaneous commenting, the unfurling of reams of comparative stats within moments, the uptick on comments even before they appear. Getting a sinking feeling here, like we’ve been duped by more North Korean shenanigans. Who’s gonna tell them that they just gave freakin’ KIM JONG UN the keys to the palace!
The Leslie Knope of WFNY.
For all teams, all rounds.
bode’s computer has a rollerball and everything!

[And I think we’ve found our meme for mgbode going forward.]
Through the year 2020
Rudy was offsides.
great, now you guys are making me sound lazy. I really should go back and add the UDFA signings for those teams.
It wasn’t called, so it wasn’t offsides.
do NOT apologize, Rain Man. Never apologize. Now go use your powers for good.
and he’s scouting middle schoolers. Creeps me out a tad.
Don’t forget to include the hypothetical LA team in your formula.
…wait, what am I saying. You probably have it and the next 3 Europe franchises figured in.
You have to have 4 European teams to form a division to balance travel. Berlin, Rhein, Barcelona, and London though 2 of their games a year will be played in Scotland. The people of Frankfurt are disheartened.
I bet bode regrets taking the salary deal rather than per piece. Should’ve consulted a good attorney. Now he’s toiling at the WFNY sweatshop cranking out pieces while Craig is swimming in a pile of gold coins ala Scrooge McDuck.
I wrote 17 articles on the Browns’ top 300 projected picks currently still in high school, and responded to 835 comments. Now, please sir, may I have some more porridge?

I see we’ve turned on him already. Well, it’s for the best. Get it out of the way.
Some day, we will respond intelligently and meaningfully to his fine articles. Today, however, is just not that day.
Punt returner was the first thing that popped into my head.
2015 comment of the year nomination.
