Everything you need to know about Iman Shumpert
January 8, 2015The Long Road To Belief
January 8, 2015The Browns have cut ties with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and are in the market for another offensive coordinator. Along with Shanahan, the team also fired quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains. These coaching changes come after rumors leaked that the team is dysfunctional and that their are problems throughout the organization. The upheaval in the coaching staff will force the Browns to hire their fourth offensive coordinator in four years and learn another new offense. It marks the start of another offseason full of change and uncertainty.
So who are the Browns looking at to fill the open offensive coordinator vacancy? On Tuesday even before Kyle Shanahan had left the team, their was a report that the Browns had reached out to long time offensive coordinator and head coach Charlie Weis. His last job was in college as the head coach of the University of Kansas, but was fired last year. Now with the change official, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler offered a new name to the list of possible offensive coordinators. Fowler reported that Marc Trestman has come up in the Browns’ offensive coordinator search and that Trestman is interested in talking to the Browns about the position.
Marc Trestman was fired as head coach of the Chicago Bears this offseason, after finishing the season 5-11. Trestman has a lot of NFL experience as an offensive coordinator. His first opportunity to be an offensive coordinator in the NFL actually came in 1989 with the Browns. He has also been an offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, and the Oakland Raiders. He definitely has the resume to be the Browns’ new offensive coordinator.
Marc Trestman's name has come up in the #Browns' OC search and Trestman would be interested in talking, according to a source.

Please no. I’m a Chicago-based Browns fan who’s witnessed this guy tear apart the Bears as a HC. He’s never held any football jobs for a long time and his offenses always decline after the first year.
I do believe that Jeremy Fowler has just cited me as a source.
Indeed. I seem to have lost my cachet as neither Weis nor Trestman is on my pre-approved OC list.
Terrible at leading a team, good at coordinating an offense. I’ll take him.
So the Browns will theoretically have a good offense for at least one year? Hmmmm… I’m willing to entertain this hire.
Let’s not forget, Marc Trestman was Kyle Shanahan before Kyle Shanahan was cool.

Him + Cutler?
No thanks on Mr. Cavallari
right, but since he schooled Bernie … uh, crap, I give up: “BERNIE? OH BERRRRNIE! COULD YOU PLEASE BE A DEAR AND GIVE US A HAND OVER HERE FOR A QUICK SEASON OR SO?”
What the hey, we can round up all the locals as position coaches: Mike Pruitt, Rucker, Dieken, Al Bubba, Golic, Hanford, Tupa, even Coach Sam. They were winners, more or less.
Now we’re talkin’! GLORY DAYS!

Sad, isn’t it, that “winners, more or less” is all it takes in Cleveland? Sigh.
If he starts talking about RG3 interest, you are officially a source.
Trestman as OC, Bernie as QB coach. Just temporarily of course, as once Bernie gets his coaching legs, he will eventually take over the entire team.
If that happens, I promise I won’t be anonymous. I’ll take full credit. I’ll even come out from behind this nom de plume that I use.
We’ll fire him or he’ll leave after one year, so why not?
nay, the entire world.
