Watch LeBron James smash it after Kevin Love’s full court pass

January 22, 2015When the Browns fired Rob Chudzinski after just one year, he found a place to land in Indianapolis. Chud was hired by the Colts in early February after being fired by the Browns right at the end of December. Colts coach Chuck Pagano had glowing things to say about Chud at the time.
“Rob and I have a long professional relationship and his résumé speaks for itself,” Pagano said in a Colts release. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be a tremendous help to our entire team moving forward. Needless to say, we’re excited to have ‘Chud’ joining our family.”
Apparently Pagano and the Colts still feel the same as they’ve reportedly blocked Rob Chudzinski from interviewing around the league for various positions.
The #Colts are blocking offensive assistant Rob Chudzinski from all of his interview requests. They want to keep him, he helps immensely

Their ability to block will run out soon, though.
Will be very interesting to see if Chudzinski, whose contract in IND expires Jan 31, re-signs w/Colts or waits to talk to teams in Feb…

It would seem that the Colts are placing tons of value on having Rob Chudzinski around. It’s hard to imagine that they’d go to all the trouble of blocking his interviews and not also use that window of opportunity to work out some kind of a deal to keep him on board. Certainly Chud has a wealth of knowledge and experience, but I have to say I’m a little bit surprised just because I don’t usually assume these things work this way. I always just assumed that this was a fraternity of coaches working together after Chud got a raw deal with the Browns. I assumed this was out of the same playbook where the Colts gave Jim Tressel a gig after the NCAA issues caused him to resign at Ohio State.
Apparently this Colts thing with Rob Chudzinski is more than just the good ole coach network helping each other out.

Chud got dumped in the middle of a lousy spot with the Browns. I hope he does well.
Actually, if there were teams that wanted to interview him for an OC job and Indy isn’t willing to give him that role, then Chud is once again being a bit screwed over by the process as most teams (GB a notable exception) allow their coaches to go and interview for promotions.
I do wish nothing but the best for Chud as he got stuck in unfortunate spots with the Browns (twice!).
Assistant coach and head coach are two different animals. The latter job obviously requires more skills, including people skills, public relations skills, and toughness. I don’t think Chud had the required toughness when he was HC here. Maybe he’ll acquire it, maybe not. It’s easy to be a “nice guy,” not always so easy to be a tough guy. But ya gotta do it.
Glad to see him doing okay, though. At least football-wise, he’s certainly doing better than Banner.
