Cleveland Browns Week 14 (Winners and) Loser
December 8, 2014My Sportsman of the Year: Michael Brantley
December 8, 2014Editor’s Note: “Who gives a shit? That doesn’t matter. You don’t need peoples’ opinions on facts. You may as well have a poll asking ‘which number is bigger: fifteen or five?’ or ‘Do owls exist?'” — John Oliver
If you frequent these parts, you should be aware that this author is staunchly against anything that could be qualify as a “take.” Sure, there is a place for critical reviews of artistic endeavors that can serve to elevate the aspirations of future forays, but when it comes to sports, I have little tolerance for the baseless, analysis-free opinions of those who have never stepped foot in a locker room or interviewed a decision maker. Grantland does a superb job of putting these types of pieces on blast. And my weekly edition of While We’re Waiting has a section specifically set aside for #ActualSportswriting.
Unfortunately, when it comes to mediums like Twitter and the air time set aside for fans to call in to radio talk shows, opinions—both educated and mind-blowing—run rampant. Such is the world when First Take is a show people actually watch.
But do I have good news for you: WFNY has decided to make lemon drops out of lemons.
For those of you who frequent the WFNY podcast, you’re well aware of @SPORTSYELLING, the always-entertaining Twitter personality who occasionally turns off the caps lock for some one-on-one time with our own Craig. For those of you on Twitter, specifically Indians fans who live and die bie every pitch, you’re well aware of @BrutalStephanie, the self-proclaimed “geek gal marketing chick” who live tweets Tribe games whether in attendance or at home, and has an affinity for pizza.
What you may not be aware of is @scorchinghottks, but that changes today. Scorching Hot Takes, or #SHT for the hashtag inclined, is the brainchild of the two aforementioned ladies—a video-based show where Stephanie takes on the worst (or best, depending on how you perceive life) the Internet has to offer. Each show will feature a guest, also of Internet “fame”, whose sole purpose is to eat scorching hot food while Stephanie delivers straight fire, one line at a time.
Our maiden voyage features Nate, who also goes by @HipsterTito on the Twitters, and some otherwise delicious Buffalo Wild Wings.
So please, take this video journey with us. We want you along for the ride while we skewer the stupid. Oh, and please—participate, would ya? Send your takes (or the scorching hot takes of others) to @scorchinghottks. And as always: Your feedback in the comments is welcome. Our goal is to make this experience as entertaining as possible. If we’re going to live in a world with takes, we may as well benefit from them in some fashion. — STS

So is the horrible production value ironic, or….
Like rain on your wedding day
More like a plane crashing into your wedding day
Both excellent twitter follows. Can’t see whatever is embedded as the media but those two crack me up, can’t wait for the Tribe to start playing again so I can go back to twitter.
Or a free ride, when you’ve already payed.
