I like that OSU only needs to be in the top 4, since getting to #2 would be impossible. They need a few teams to go down though.
Unfortunately, OSU will never be placed in the top 4. It doesn’t matter that they might actually be one of the best 4 teams playing; the loss to VT is just too much for people to overcome. Which is why I’m as frustrated with this “playoff committee” structure as I was with the pre-BCS regime (and certainly the BCS). They created the horrible BCS so that we could get away from purely subjective rankings and artificial championships and have now replaced it with a purely subjective ranking system that will artificially create a champion.
Give me a 16-team playoff, already, with champions from all 10 conferences and 6 at large entrants. Screw the bowls.
They definitely need a lot of teams to lose. I agree about the playoff system, everybody has one but college football.
Even college football has it – at every level but the big boys. It’s nonsense, really (but this isn’t news to anyone).
Agree, though, that if a lot of those teams in front lose (it’s a guarantee that at least two will), it will be very hard for them to disqualify OSU. I still think they’ll try.
Hudson FTW!!!
