Browns center Alex Mack might have broken leg
October 12, 2014Browns treat their fans to a big win over Steelers 31-10
October 12, 2014The Browns took a 21-3 lead into halftime after a slow start. The injuries were starting to pile up.
3rd Quarter
The Browns and Steelers traded punts for a bit. The Browns couldn’t take advantage of having the ball back to start the third quarter.
Isaiah Crowell was having none of it though. 24-yard run for The Crow.
64 yards on 7 runs for Isaiah Crowell today

Keep feeding Crow.

It also seemed to me that the Browns were now playing a 4-3 defense with two interior linemen and two defensive ends as oppose to three DLs and two OLBs. I tweeted as such and got this response.
@WFNYCraig It's a hybrid defense — as in "hi, I'm healthy".
— bluedog93 (@Bluedog93) October 12, 2014
After the Browns drive stalled, thanks to a big hit on Jordan Cameron, the Browns added a 40-yard field goal that snuck in the right side. Browns 24 – Steelers 3.
Meanwhile, K’Waun Williams was injured and I think the Steelers’ gameplan just went pass-heavy.
Jordan Cameron now has topped 100 yards receiving for the day. #Browns

#BRowns Justin Gilbert forced to play bcuz of KWaun Williams head injury. Here we go. Gonna be a ride to finish line.
— Tony Grossi (@TonyGrossi) October 12, 2014
After the Browns tipped the ball at the line of scrimmage, Buster Skrine intercepted the pass.
A pick 6 by the Browns here is going to register on Richter scales in Cleveland

Somebody wake up Mike Carey.
— #RollTribe (@tribefaninohio) October 12, 2014
Steelers fans apparently weren’t taking it well…
WOW…a steelers fan just tried to fight with me while I was in the rest room. I giggled at her and walked away. #woof

Drew Carey > Mike Carey.

At the end of the third quarter, the Browns are driving with a 24-3 lead.

TD Browns. Blowing the #Steelers out
— Steelers Depot (@Steelersdepot) October 12, 2014
What a scene here. #Browns and their fans taking out 15 years of frustration this afternoon. Tate 1-yard TD run. Browns lead 31-3 lead.
— Tom Reed (@treed1919) October 12, 2014
The party in Cleveland will be epic tonight if this lead holds.
— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) October 12, 2014
Loving every second of this. #Browns
— Dustin Fox (@DustinFox37) October 12, 2014
Even as it was all good feelings in Cleveland and as much as I like and respect Pat McManamon, I feel maybe this was premature with about 12 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Tomlin waves white flag. Punts on fourth and four down 31-3 and 11:58 left.
— PatMcManamon (@PatMcManamon) October 12, 2014
And that’s why. With 11:11 to go in the game, Isaiah Crowell went for a long run before coughing the ball up. NFL games are crazy.

Mike Mitchell creates a turnover. Ok, nice play. Crowell is gonna get hell on the sidelines. #Steelers #Browns
— David Todd (@DavidMTodd) October 12, 2014
Second turnover of season keeps #Steelers breathing. They’re down 28 with 11:11 left, but if Ben gets going … well … we’ll see. #Browns

The Steelers had a really short field to work with at the Browns’ 30. But, the city looked great.

The Steelers were knocking on the door at the one or two yard line and went very un-Steeler like with the dumb personal foul. The Browns got beat on the very next play, but Ben Roethlisberger overthrew Wheaton in the end zone.
Brutal. Bad throw by Ben to wide open Wheaton. Wheaton didn’t adjust. Those two having a terrible day together. #Steelers

The Browns have outscored the Steelers, 55-6, since that first half in Week 1.

The Steelers did get in the end zone with 2:36 to go in the game. Ben Roethlisberger completed a long pass to Lance Moore as the Browns’ pass rush was non-existent and likely completely out of gas.

Meanwhile, Joe Banner was fighting with people on Twitter. Nobody put it better than our friend Jamil Smith.
Have a Coke and a smile, @JoeBanner13. The guys responsible for today's #Browns win are on the field. You're on Twitter. Have a nice day.
— Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) October 12, 2014
The game really started to wind down as both teams seemed to be content letting the butt-kicking end with no more injuries. Brian Hoyer wasn’t coming out though.
Brian Hoyer wouldn't let Mike Pettine take him out of this game for Johnny if it was 71-10.
— Dan Labbe (@dan_labbe) October 12, 2014
If Steelers do not score again this will be widest margin of victory over Pittsburgh since #Browns won the 1989 opener 51-0 in Pitt.
— Jeff Schudel (@jsproinsider) October 12, 2014
The Steelers are so bad they're out there downing punts for the Browns at the 3-yard line.
— Zac Jackson (@AkronJackson) October 12, 2014
Of course, Mike Tomlin did call his timeouts after the two minute warning. I don’t include my own tweets, often, but I took care of this one.
In fairness to Mike Tomlin, Pat Shurmur would have called timeout too.
— Craig Lyndall (@WFNYCraig) October 12, 2014
The Browns used a timeout with 11 seconds left and I’m unsure why, but I’m hoping it was to keep them on the field a few seconds longer.
Browns win! Browns win big! Browns beat up the Steelers 31-10!

Did we still have a challenge left? I would have loved to challenge that interception on the last (real) play of the game (and not for fantasy reasons).
i agree. Would have been shades of Woody Hayes going for 2 because he couldn’t go for 3.
