More Simmons, Buckeye fan obliterated and UTTAD turns 20: While We’re Waiting…
September 29, 2014Tribe wins 85: Happy, but not satisfied
September 29, 2014Sure, there are plenty of quotes to share and sound bites to parse, but another high point of annual Media Days in the NBA are good for are scoping out what the players plan on wearing on their feet come regular season. There were, per usual, your fair share of Nikes, but a few more PEs and private lines this time around thanks to the addition of LeBron James, Shawn Marion and Kevin Love to the mix. While the Cavs will never match up with the likes of Sacramento or Toronto when it comes to sneaker game, we should see our fair share of flash bulbs going off in the direction of certain players’ feet.
Here’s a look at what a few of your Cleveland Cavaliers were rocking during the unveiling of the 2014-15 season.
LeBron’s “Heart of a Lion” 12s were easily the most-discussed shoes in Independence. Not only is this (in my opinion) the best of the initial release, it doesn’t come out until October 30. It’s safe to say LeBron is firmly on #TeamEarly. I’d be shocked if he wore anything different on Opening Night.
I was pumped to see The Matrix already have his own wine and gold PE ready for the upcoming season. These are a clean pair of kicks that would probably push a few units if released in local retails shops. Marion later shared a shot of these on his Instagram account, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I liked mine better.
These shoes are designed especially for quick-darting point guards (“the One”), but that won’t stop Cleveland’s starting off-guard from lacing them up. Waiters has long been a fan of low-top sneakers (his locker is littered with KDs and Kobes), so this new release seems fit for his style and preference. They do look super comfortable, so there’s that.
Speaking of Kobes. Delly rocked Kobe lows all last season, so it’s little surprise to see him once again in a pair of EMs (Engineered Mesh). I personally couldn’t imagine playing in low-tops, but Delly makes it work—and well at that.
TT is once again wearing the Soldiers, LeBron’s secondary line. He’s been rocking these since he arrived in Cleveland, so it wasn’t going to change this time around with James being his teammate.
Like Tristan, James Jones is wearing Team Soldier VIIIs, but in a more subdued black. It’ll be interesting to see if he changes things up later this season.
Up there with Karl Malone’s LA Knights deal, Kevin Love’s 3.0 361º kicks aren’t going to do much in the way of retail. Hopefully he can get the Chinese-based 361 to customize him some wine and gold versions similar to these, but as long as the big man pulls down 10-12 boards per night, no one will say a word.

James Jones shoes = Time to get to work. 🙂
Old school with a modern look but my man K-Love needs some new colors for his shoes. I personally love the wine and gold great color combination!
