Jordan Cameron changes Twitter profile after Jimmy Graham ruling
July 3, 2014Jim Brennan’s Colony, and the community that fosters Cleveland sports fandom: While We’re Waiting
July 3, 2014I don’t generally get into the whole sports fashion discussion, but when I see something really awful, I think I kind of know it’s awful. Then again, I’m only getting older and lamer than the already old, lame guy that I have always been.
Here’s the Tribe’s All-Star game hat.
Because it’s the modern age and merchandising is the thing, they also have a specific hat for the Home Run Derby. This is better to me.
What do you think?

Bad? I think that thing is awesome. Not the red one. We’re not the Reds
I think the two-tone is goofy. Then again me = old, lame as I said. 🙂
Im 37 in about 6 wks
I like it!
Yeah, I dig it. The only thing I don’t like is the patch on the side as it’s instantly dated. Love the two-tone. I already own the all-red “Block C”, so I’d be hard-pressed to get a derby version, but I like the game version a lot. If they made one without the side patch, I’m in.
I just think anything with the block-C looks lame. I know they need to move on from wahoo, but they can do better than this.
I think it looks great (the all star game hat more so than the HR derby hat). I’d love to but one if they offered it in a snap-back model
I’m a ballcap guy and I completely disagree. I love this hat and would consider buying one if they have a 39Thirty version of it. Although I agree with Scott, I would prefer one without the All-Star logo, but I love the two stars on the back.
You’re so old and stodgy, Craig.
Uh-Oh. Sucks that they leave the stars out.
I too like the stars. Just not that gaudy patch.
Didn’t show up on the first drag’n’drop.
Sorry. Impatience is my biggest flaw.
No All-Star patch though.
Boooooooooooooo
Are you saying Boooo or Boooo-urns?
Age is a state of mind and I’ve been old since my early 20’s. Ask my friends and family. Ha.
Looks like a cap we would’ve worn in the late 70s/early 80s to me.
Booooooooooo-Beeeeeeeeeees
That was exactly my first thought and then I realized that it’s basically my all-time favorite Wahoo hat except with the Block C. http://www.cupstuff.com/mlb/cleveland/images/civ80sth_s.jpg
I dig the hat. I only wish that the white came all the way out to the seams, similar to the Oriole’s hats.
Of that $30 how much do the Dolan’s get? Ah wait, nevermind.
But you get all of the hat.
That’s because you linked the 39Thirty model. The 59Fifty model is the on-field one that will have the patch and stars. http://shop.neweracap.com/style/MLB-2014-All-Star-Game-Patch-59FIFTY-Cap/20632762
What does the infield practice hat look like?

We would look like Ash Ketchum
I know, I prefer the 39Thirty hats. The crown on the 59Fiftys make me look like I should be conducting a locomotive.
oh, I hear ya. I’m a proponent of the adage “it’s not the years, it’s the miles”. Im 36 going on 50. When I sit in my sons sandbox with him for 10 minutes, I end up walking around for ten minutes afterward like a hunchback
Or Blue Jays. But yeah, now that you mention it, that bothers me a bit. Still dig them though.
Agreed. Block C is not unique and boring. At least use the script I.
Same but bedazzled.
Two sticking points:
1. IT’S NOT CHIEF WAHOO
2. Too much white.
As one that dearly loves the Chief and thinks Block C is mediocre, I will definitely pass. I will only buy Indians hats that sport Chief Wahoo. Not buying into this politically correct garbage.
At least that hat has something closer to a logo instead of just a letter.
