Fun with Numbers: Browns-Ravens edition
November 3, 2013NFL News: Cleveland Browns’ inactives vs Baltimore
November 3, 2013
Brandon Weeden nearly beat the Ravens in Baltimore. That happened. It was a horrible game to watch and sure, Baltimore’s one-point lead felt like 50. But the Browns only lost 14-6.
Jason Campbell took some snaps in the game and… it wasn’t pretty.
That game feels like a life time ago. Josh Gordon had yet to play a down, Trent Richardson was still with the Browns and Brian Hoyer hadn’t won, and then broken, our hearts.
This game should be different. The Browns are at home, they should get at least passable (or maybe just non-hideous?) quarterback play and the Ravens will actually have to game plan for a Browns offensive weapon. This is a winnable game for the Brownies.
Hope, I haz it.
Here’s a look back on the Browns coverage from WFNY:
Rick killed it this past week, wondering which Browns team will show up on Sunday, how the Browns need to avoid penalties and he gives them his midseason report card. TD asked what would Banner do? Scott took a look at ACL injuries and what to expect from Travis Benjamin and Brian Hoyer. And Craig broke down the Browns’ loss the Chiefs and talked to Scott Raab about the loss in KC.
This is your Week 8 open thread.
Go Browns!

if a tree falls in the woods…..
Kick the field goal!
who are these receivers?
Some nice moments on that drive by the vet QB. OK, defense, your move. What’s it gonna be today – big talk or big plays?
Like the aggressive call on 4th down. Tell me Weeden even attempts that throw. My Dad just put it best…
“If Weeden’s in there, he probably fumbles it for a touchdown the other way.”
pretty sure the only way our dbs can intercept a pass is if they are standing all alone somewhere and the pass is gently placed in both hands.
and like a bad penny, with similar hair color …
Cleveland QB’s…play decent, get injured
Our “Best Football Fans in America” are really a disgrace. Booing Weeden (who, by every metric, sucks terribly) is never going to help our team win.
Maybe Greg Little can solve the hands problem every now and then. But stupid is forever.
That legendary Greg Little self-discipline.
Let’s see how they blow this game
must say, though, that Little’s block let Bess get in the end zone. If that cerebellum could just reach minimum function …
Defense needs to pick up McGahee after the fumble. Could be a turning point of the game
I’m ok with it against the RatBirds. Fierce rival, nothing to lose, don’t back down.
If the Browns were 6-1 I wouldn’t feel the same. hopefully, he wouldn’t either.
Campbell is uncharacteristically off on his short passes, not leading his receivers. Wonder if those ribs are affecting his motion.
interception? INTERCEPTION!!!
huge defensive breakdowns at a crucial time. Man, learn how to finish the quarter.
Inability to finish has been a trademark of the Browns for way too long. We led the Ravens at halftime and went on to lose. Hopefully this isn’t a repeat. But I have a feeling it is.
Touchdown Ravens.
Ladies and gentlemen (and mgbode): your Cleveland Browns.
We have a chance to pick up a game on everybody in the division today. C’mon, Brownies, let’s get ‘er done.
You know what I love? Watching Craig Robertson get beaten to the edge by Joe Flacco. He is just too slow.
Not if the Steelers beat the Pats. Which looks very likely now
PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!
My excitement about the Browns has been offset after seeing the Steelers-Patriots score. Wake up New England!!
I really need Jason Campbell to stay healthy. Because I cannot watch Weeden trot in here again.
Also, maybe we need to have the dee play straight up for a while. Flacco is stepping right up and beating a lot of these blitzes.
besides the punter the special teams have not been special. That Ravens fumble was self-inflicted and we seem to be giving up hunks of return yardage today. And why did Bess fair catch at the 8?
And now the Browns face the sins of not sustaining an offensive drive all half. The defense looks gassed with 12:00 to play.
Uh oh.
whatever
Looking less likely now… we’re good.
