Is Bernie Kosar’s doctor really helping him? Jason Schwartz discusses – WFNY Podcast – 2013-11-18
November 18, 2013MLB News: Omar Vizquel is new Detroit first-base coach
November 18, 2013It’s a little late, but I can’t stop thinking about this play from Saturday night. I discussed it with Scott Raab because it would have seemed so inconceivable that Matthew Dellavedova might have factored into the Cavaliers game on Saturday night… in overtime… in a positive way…
Anyway, he doesn’t get the worship that Kyrie gets for scoring all those points against the Wizards, but he should get some major contributing kudos for his efforts. They didn’t go unnoticed at WFNY.
We’ll see on Wednesday against those same Wizards if Dellavedova impressed Mike Brown enough to come anywhere close to playing as much as he did on Saturday when he logged an overtime-extended 31 minutes. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I don’t mind seeing a bit more.

I’m OK with seeing him get some extended run.
Dude has all the makings of a classic hard-nosed fan favorite. Do wish he had some semblance of a shot, any shot, so he could get minutes. Except for a weird tear drop that fell he was firing up some brutal-looking stuff Saturday night, including getting a blocked layup where it looked like he hasn’t yet adjusted to the athleticism of NBA players .
I definitely liked Dellavedova as a free agent pickup and wanted him to win that final spot on the Cavs’ roster. He shot a ton of 3-pointers in college… over half of his attempts were threes if my quick math is right (it’s at least close), so I would expect that he’ll eventually practice enough NBA-range 3-pointers to get to the point where he can adjust to the distance and hit them at a respectable percentage. I don’t think that will be happening this early in the season, though. He’s a heady player, and you’re going to see that as he gains more experience.
