September 29, 2013Reports out of Solon say that Bernie Kosar was taken to jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol shortly after being stopped for speeding early this morning. While the rest of the details have yet to become clear, what always seems to be true is that not much good happens in the wee hours of the morning. Kosar was pulled over at 2:42 a.m.
Kosar is nearly every Browns fan’s all-time favorite quarterback, and yet, as a former player it is increasingly difficult for Kosar to do anything positive for his legacy now that his days on the field are long gone. He was the subject of pre-season controversy for statements he made about the Rams while serving as a color commentator. While that didn’t seem like a big deal to Browns fans, it put a negative light on the former Browns QB nationally as it became the subject of conversation at ESPN and Sports Illustrated.
Then again, maybe Bernie will steal the show in Hollywood if his scenes from Kevin Costner’s forthcoming “Draft Day” film don’t hit the cutting room floor.

Peter King must be chuckling.
More relevant than the Rams preseason comments is the fact that he couldn’t hold it together for a 10 minute radio appearance on the Hooligans in the spring, obviously plastered out of his mind, yet everyone in town covered up for him (including, esp., Tony Rizzo), said it was the concussions, and continued to push him for a FO position with the Browns. Sad all around.
