Cleveland Indians makeover is fun, but will it work?
February 13, 2013The Diff: Debunking myths about Michael Bourn
February 13, 2013The Cleveland Indians released their promotional schedule for the 2013 regular season, and as expected it is rife with giveaways, discounted food and fireworks.
Jason Kipnis and Michael Brantley will be given the replica jersey treatment this season along with newly acquired outfielder-turned-first baseman Nick Swisher. For Hall of Fame weekend, the Indians will be presented with a plaque of Rocky Colavito. And on the bobblehead front, the Indians will once again go the nostalgic route by having featured giveaways of former outfielder Albert Belle and former shortstop Omar Vizquel.
Popular promotional staples also will return for 2013: Rock N’ Blast, a two-night fireworks pectacular and part of a 16-night fireworks schedule, is set for Aug. 9 and Aug. 10. Sugardale will present 15 Dollar Dog Nights, the first on Friday, April 12 with the Chicago White Sox in town.
Capping things off is the August 24th celebration of John Adams, the team’s drummer who will be celebrating his 40th anniversary.

Really? Belle and Vizquel Bobbleheads? Finally someone found the keys to that old storage room. I thought we would never be able to get in there.
will Belle be doing his bicep pose?
will Vizquel be fielding a ball bare-handed?
MKC said that Belle will be running over a 2nd basemen & Omar will be riding on a tiger.
What are the odds that the presenting of the Colavito plaque breaks the curse?
What are the odds that presenting the Colavito plaque will break the curse?
by tiger you mean SI Swimsuit model?
Indians to Omar, “We’re not hiring you but we’ll give you a bobblehead.”
Tiger Woods had all of ’em!
Maybe it’s time to move on from the 90s…
Bobbleheads are nice, but I’m excited about getting me a Weather Education Booklet to add to my collection of meteorology memoribilia! Hope it’s not rained out.
Never! Those bobbleheads are going to look great in my collection.
Yes.

Maybe it’s time for UM fans to move on from the all time record brag which was built late 1800s to 1940s.
Who cleans up after Puppypalooza?
And when are we collectively going to stop ending events with “palooza”? It’s a regular paloozagate.
You’re right. It’s lame-tastic.
i was kidding. but, i’m glad i did. that is fantastic. glad the Indians weren’t scared off by the steroid-90’s from making such a caricature.
and now I am thinking about moving up my annual Cleveland trip to early June.
The Indians were pretty much driving the steroid train in the ’90s. I guess they figured they might as well embrace it now, too.
Lance Armstrong wants to point out that we didn’t fail any tests (okay, they didn’t actually test in the 90s and Manny did later and GlenAllen Hill was named in the Mitchell Report, but NO FAILED TESTS AS INDIANS!)
