Byron Scott says shorter rotation is Cavs’ “last resort”
November 15, 2012Contest time! WFNY wants you to go to MedWish’s Huddle!
November 15, 2012Rookie WR Josh Gordon was fined $20,000 for his ‘blindside’ block on Ravens safety Ed Reed. The block occurred in the third quarter on an end around run by Travis Benjamin. There was a subsequent personal foul penalty on Baltimore, creating off-setting penalties and erasing a 9 yard Benjamin run.
Gordon will appeal the fine.

Looked like a clean hit to me. Hinz Ward was famous for this. Not sure if he was ever fined for it. Fine seems kind of bogus to me.
Hines Ward made a career out of doing the same thing that got Gordon fined $20k. Hope the locker room pitches in and pays the fine for him. I’ve been waiting for someone to do that to Reed and/or Polamalu for the past 10 years.
that shouldn’t have even been a penalty. i’m all for player safety, and can’t fully fault the refs for the penalty call b/c everything happens on the field so fast. but the NFL had the opportunity to review the play and come up with this?! total BS
Blind side block….sigh. Not allowed to block that outside LB. If he turns and sees the WR coming and lays him out, that is ok though. If anyone should be fined, it should be the DB for not yelling CRACK!!!
They are not allowed to bring cash into locker rooms anymore thanks to the Saints.
They don’t have to literally give him the money in the locker room, they can do it in a dark ally, or parking lot even.
you mean like TN boosters for Tyler Bray?
PacMan Jones yelled “Crack!” all the time. Think he meant something else though.
ugh. Thought the body blocking angle was fine. Reed’s head was certainly turned away from him but that’s shouldn’t be Gordon’s problem. $20K? That should be reserved for stuff like twisting the QB’s throwing thumb at the end of a sack.
NFL: You blocked Ed Reed? No receiver’s allowed to block Ed Reed! Since it looks controversial, YOU GET FINED!
Wonder how they’ll react when he does it to James Harrison…
Respect to Gordon. He came out and showed hes going to stand up to anyone in the NFL and he SMACKED ed reed right in the chest. Not the head and certainly not in the back, He showed balls and is getting fined for it. NFL is getting out of hand with these fines mannnn.
I looked at this play and it wasn’t a malicious hit, it was football, if you can’t hit anybody anymore, then lets put flags on people and be done with it.
