WFNY Wednesday Wahoos: Indians Minor League Weekly Review 8/1
August 1, 2012Box Score: Indians 2, Royals 5
August 1, 2012Well, here’s the news–
“The Indians placed Travis Hafner on Major League Baseball’s paternity list on Wednesday, giving the veteran designated hitter between one to three days to be with his family for the birth of their second son.
Cleveland promoted utility man Vinnie Rottino from Triple-A Columbus to temporarily take Hafner’s spot on the roster.
“Vinnie’s going to be here a couple of days up until Hafner comes back, unless something changes,” Indians manager Manny Acta said. “He’s a guy that can play in the corners in the outfield, the corners in the infield and even catch. That’s what he’s going to do.”
Acta added that Rottino will probably be in the lineup on Thursday, when the Indians are scheduled to face Royals lefty Bruce Chen.”
Mr. and Mrs. Pronk welcomed a new baby boy. His name is TBD. Suggestions?

Wow, they really refuse to bring up LaPorta or Canzler, don’t they?
Name:
Proby….Half project, half baby?
or..
Babonky….Half baby, half donkey?
The organization seems to have a bias against Fedroff, Phelps, and Goedert. I have know ideas why these guys aren’t with the big club.
wouldn’t the baby only be a quarter donkey?
Canzler is struggling. Going purely by the numbers, Goedert, Fedroff
and Rottino are the most deserving and it looks like they picked Rottino
because of his position versatility.
Plus, they probably want to save the number of options on some of the guys for a 3-4 day stint.
Nah they are probably just saving their service time because that’s the most important thing.
