May 23, 2012The Chris Perez situation, as it were, has reached some kind of initial conclusion. I’m sure it will come up again before the end of the year, but all said and done, against the Tigers when given their first chance to respond to the outspoken Tribe closer, the Cleveland Indians faithful were supportive.

He looked real humble when he let out that hip pump and shout after striking our Miggy to get the…..second out in the inning.
I get that he is fired up, I get that is who he is…but with 2 men on base and Fielder stepping up to the plate the game was far from over at that point.
Save it for when you strike out Prince, to do so otherwise is kinda classless IMO.
Chris Perez “humbled” by standing o, promises to share more grievances as they occur to him and ignore pleas for impulse control from suits and others who will never understand the burden of the professional athlete.
I thought he didn’t care what the fans did? I know that is nit picking but honestly the guy has been so all over the place he’s opened himself up to that kind of criticism. He did a great job last night, I just really hope he keeps his fat trap shut from now on.
And by all over the place, I mean with his comments on the fans, not pitching.
Great point. Perez got the attention he wanted and the cheer of the massive 15,000+ plus…see he wasn’t asking for much!
exactly. all he wanted was a little love. was that so hard?
He meant he was humbled by the reception by the fans, not about anything else. Come on, don’t take his words out of context.
14 for 14 on saves with a 1.62 ERA and 0.90 WHIP since opening day. he keeps it up he can say whatever he pleases.
uhm, yes i know that.
I am just pointing out his classless act and that it does not show any signs of someone who is “humble”
Classless is hardly the word that should be used to describe what Perez did after striking out Cabrera.
Maybe overexuberant (agree should probably tone it down) but was not classless…at least not IMO
agree to disagree.
I just know if I saw Papelbon pull that move in the same situation I’d need to be held back from storming the field (which in turn would be my classless act) 😉
keep putting up saves and he can say whatever he wants. nothing to see here people. move along
make it 15 for 15
