Please let this mean the BROWNS will wear the BROWN jerseys for their away games and not the awful, boring, repetitive white they wore for all 16 games last year.
Browns can’t wear Brown jerseys for away games unless the home team chooses to wear white – it’s not up to the Browns. Will happen when they visit Dallas but probably not any other time.
They forgot the paper bag design! It has dual purposes the first being it will allow a Browns fan the opportunity to disguise himself and second something in which to hurl after the game.
Alright, fine. But, they ALWAYS wore white and it was dull and boring and we have these wonderful Brown jerseys, why did we never wear them? Were we pushovers whenever we played other teams and meekly asked what color they would be happy with every time?
I once had the idea to approach Heinen’s and see if they wanted to be the official sponsor of the Browns’ fan paper bag. Take your groceries home in it, then cut out eye holes to wear to the game.
I don’t think the Browns would appreciate the humor.
On a side note I saw a photo of the new Carolina helmet and it reminds me of a college helmet a la Boise State. Solid black with a massive Panther in a bluish outline.
I don’t understand why they insist on using a modern helmet. If they aren’t going with the Brownie Elf can we at least revert back to the 1-bar helmet or something a bit more classic? I’m tired of seeing something so new as the logo for a historic franchise.
The bulldog logo is too corporate for my taste – an unsatisfying emblem of the MBNA-era Browns. I’d love for the Brownie to be more integrated, as it connects both to folk history and to the proud decades of the franchise
what’s the over/under for taunting penalties called by the referees when players out their hands together to form the logos?
Id be willing to bet it’ll be a point of emphasis from the league and will end up being a big deal in the early part of the season. I would also bet my house, my truck and my dog that this scenario will play out in the fourth quarter of a Browns game, and the ensuing penalty will somehow cause the Browns to lose.
They wore the white jerseys all year as a tribute to Jim Brown. People have no idea because no-one in the organization ever publicized it. I agree though, wear the brown jerseys and don’t ever act like you are “honoring” a legend by playing such a horrible brand of football.

Really disappointed in the gloves. Would have been a perfect opportunity to use the awesome Elf logo

Come on, its silly.
A) It’s a brownie. Get it right. 😉 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brownie_(folklore)
B) Do the browns still use that logo? I agree 100% that those gloves would be perfect with the brownie.
I’m heading down there now to check it out. I doubt I walk away empty handed. If I find cool stuff I will post.
Agreed. Tradition shmadition. Our lack of a logo has never been so glaringly embarrassing.

Pretty sure it is up to Shurmur. I take it he hates the Brown jerseys. I love the whites, but I am with you and only want to see them on the road.

I’ve always been partial to the simple B in the football shape background logo. I never understood why that one wasn’t used more.
I need to get me some of them high orange socks! (hoodie looks cool too)
After they showed the seahawks I was worried. Looks like we came out ok though….
Exactly. I can’t stand the mono-white.
The good news is that, per the above image from Twitter, the jersey is Brown in that picture so maybe our beloved Browns will wear brown finally.
Holmgren made the decision during pre-season to honor Paul Brown (Brown liked the all white look I guess).

I don’t think that logo existed before 1999.

I will buy those gloves. I want them.

It’s ok, though a bit insipid and dull. I would cast my vote strongly for the Brownie

Like I said… PAUL Brown… and the legendary teams he coached
