Ohio State, Basketball School?
October 7, 2011Playoff Baseball is The King
October 7, 2011We get approached to do link exchanges and product advertisements and just general sales-y stuff all the time. Most times we just turn it down. Something about this was wholly appealing though.
Step2 is a company I knew nothing about before I became a dad. After? Totally different story. Step2 is a local company located in Streetsboro, Ohio and they just happen to make some of the coolest and safest action toys that you can buy for your kids. They make the kinds of toys that don’t make you feel guilty because you turned your kid into a lazy zombie like you can with TV or video games. I mean, sometimes zombie is good, but only as an exception not the rule.
Anyway, when Step2 got ahold of us and told us that they wanted to let the world know they now make an Ohio State wagon, I jumped at the chance to review one because I love the company and I knew it would make my kid go absolutely nuts. Yep. He went nuts.
The first night we had the wagon, it was rainy and nasty, so he played with it for a bit in the garage. When we went in for dinner, my one and a half year old absolutely lost his mind screaming “RIDE!” repeatedly at the top of his lungs. For those who don’t have kids, this might seem like a bad thing, but trust me it is a very strong product endorsement.
First and foremost, the wagon just looks cool. The molded plastic is smooth all over. There are cup holders for a sippy. One of the seats folds up for storage. There are seat belts on both sides. I can’t tell you how important that is with our kid who wants to stand up. It has a latching door on the side so the kid can climb in and out all on their own. Last, but not least, they put drain holes in the floor so it won’t hold any rain water or spills and I can easily hose that bad-boy down to get all the goldfish and cracker crumbs out of there easily. Although my dogs were happy to eat all the crumbs on Wednesday.
Anyway, I don’t need to get into it much more than that. Cool product for kids available from a local company is really all you need to know. For more information, check out Step 2’s website.

Very Cool! I have a step 2 wagon but now am bummed because its not OSU. Also mine didnt come with seat belts which would be a help. I have several step 2 toys for the kids and never knew they were based in Ohio.
Heh, I always thought it was Step 2 because they employed people who were trying to rehabilitate themselves. Guess it was just the people I knew who worked there…
They make solid stuff…those dogs are jealous!

the house is actually used in my younger sons bedroom. we received a slightly different version of the rock-wall slide than shown (bought it a couple years ago), but that one is at the in-laws and has taken a beating with no wear showing.
cute kid, craig!
The (band) wagon is pretty empty these days!
