Our own Brendan Bowers discusses Kyrie Irving’s body fat percentage and how it should be of little concern to Cavalier fans, “As does missing all but 11 games of your freshman season at Duke prevent you from being in premium shape. Because in Irving’s case, it’s really that simple for all you Cavs fans up in arms about Kyrie’s supposed “weight problem”… The Cavaliers won the lottery on Tuesday. They are holding a winning lottery ticket. Cash it in, draft Irving, and let’s all speculate on what to do with the 4th selection.” [Stepien Rules]
Jim at IPI goes “Around The Farm” for the Tribe, starting with Zach McAllister, “McAllister is 7-0 overall, with a 2.42 ERA. He’s struck out 42 batters, while walking only ten in 52 innings of work. It would be really, really hard for Tribe brass to pass McAllister by should a call be made to Columbus for another starter.” [Indians Prospect Insider]
James Walker at the ESPN AFC North Blog goes through his weekend mailbag, taking questions on the Browns, “The pros are that Whitner is one of the top free agents available and the Browns have a need at safety. He’s also a local product from Cleveland, and I think if the money is right, the Browns have a good shot. But the cons are that Whitner’s style is similar to T.J. Ward’s as in-the-box safeties, and that could present problems in coverage. Both players are young and potentially could be “coached up” to get better in coverage. But on paper that looks to be an issue. Still, Whitner is an upgrade over what the Browns have.” [AFC North Blog]
Dave Kolonich at Orange and Brown Report gives his thoughts about Colt McCoy and the concept of him as a franchise quarterback, “As Ramllov suggests, the success of the organization will not rest on the arm of McCoy – although it certainly could from benefit from the second-year quarterback. In a more permanent sense – and in a complete departure from past regimes – the Browns finally appear to be solidly constructing a team around a franchise quarterback, as opposed to making a quarterback the centerpiece of the rebuilding process.” [Orange and Brown Report]
Finally, former professional wrestler “Macho Man” Randy Savage passed away at the age of 58 in an automobile accident after suffering a health incident. Did you know that he was a minor league baseball player? ” But before Savage hit it big in wrestling, he had a four-year pro baseball career with the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds — and it was remarkable for a few reasons. As an 18-year-old in 1971, Savage (who then went by his given name, Randy Poffo), won a job with the Cards after trying out. Yes, those camps actually bear fruit once in a while.” [Big League Stew]

Boozer was fat in college too – roid Irving up and let’s go.
“…the Browns finally appear to be solidly constructing a team around a franchise quarterback, as opposed to making a quarterback the centerpiece of the rebuilding process.”
Best, most logical statement about the Browns drafts and roster moves (both 2010 and 2011) I have ever read. Well said. The holistic approach to the team will benefit us greatly.
Now, let’s get this lockout nonsense over with.
Im looking forward to getting a look at McAllister when the time comes, which I think will be quite soon.
Macho Man was also born in Columbus. Another Ohio relevant story.
