Tom Brady is not impressed with you Cleveland- “You lose a game in Cleveland and you think you’re the worst quarterback in the world,” Brady tells NBC’s Bob Costas during an interview that will air during Football Night in America. “You couldn’t lead the team to victory. That’s pretty motivating right there.” [Florio/Pro Football Talk]

McCoy continues to impress- “Despite the loss, those tiresome Sundays may be over. Why? Here’s why: Trailing 20-13 with 2:42 remaining in the game, the Browns offense took over at its own 41-yard-line. In the second half, the Browns offense possessed the ball for only four-and-a-half minutes. The Jets offense dominated the time of possession and the game. The Browns looked down and out. They needed a touchdown against the Jets’ defense, which is one of the best in the NFL.” [Don Delco/The OBR]

Are WRs like Braylon to blame?- “Huge fines keep being levied against defenders but repeatedly, it’s the receivers that are instigating illegal contact.” [Hugging Harold Reynolds]

Much of the team has made significant progress. Other areas…not so much- “Massaquoi and Brian Robiskie continue to be a complete void at the wide receiver position. While Massaquoi did pull in the tying TD, he only had one other catch while Robiskie posted his typical Blutarksi stat line – 0 catches for 0 yards.” [Red Right 88]

I get the feeling a lot of teams that the Cavs have beat on for 4+ years might take some satisfaction in winning this season- “The defense on Danny Granger was some shameful p0op. The Cavs lost him in transition and let him get good looks at threes. When he went to the basket, they didn’t stop him. When he pulled up, they were nowhere in the vicinity. The Cavs’ complete inability to guard opposing wings is one of their biggest issues right now.” [Krolic/Cavs the Blog]

Tom Brady’s post game comments after the Steelers game… sounded like he blamed a bad week of practice for getting slammed by the Browns. Allen Iverson called him from Turkey to ask why he’s talking about practice after a game.
I think the Steelers should have watched the Browns more closely so they could have learned how to beat the Saints and the Patriots.
Tom Brady is arrogant. That’s the Michigan Difference.
Dear Eric Wright,
Why do you suck?
Love,
Us
I just can’t wait for this Sunday against Jacksonville. This team should finish above .500, and maybe have a relevant finish in the AFC North the last three weeks of the year.
Come on Browns! You’re so close! It’s time to take your frustration out on Jax, Car, Mia, and Buf. Each game will be tough, but given the improvement this Browns team has shown, 7-6 heading into the 2nd lap around the division is not out of the question.
Damn shame we couldn’t pull that out, seeing how the rest of the division all lost this weekend. We would be 4-5 with PIT and BAL at 6-3…
Has Eric Wright been cut yet? He doesnt belong on this team.
ugh…I’m finding it really hard to not bag on Chanci Stuckey or Eric Wright at this point. I know Stuckey was fighting for extra yards but ball security is paramount in that situation.
Eric Wright was giving a 10 yard cushion no matter who he was covering yesterday…this guy looks like he’s afraid to screw up at this point. I have to say I won’t be too broken up if he’s wearing another uniform next year with what’s transpired this year. It’s unfortunate, but it was a good hard fought game. Good job Brownies.
@8: You gotta ask who would put him in a uniform at this point…
@8 – Apparently he believes teams will be knocking down his agent’s door to get him. I don’t see it.
sorry I meant at @9 Chris. Ugh mondays after a loss.
I don’t know. The Jets WRs were relatively quiet yesterday until that last catch. Wright should get a lot of credit for that (and it’s not like he was playing 10 yards off the receivers just on his own volition – it’s called “cover 3”). Granted the last play was the worst play, but why are we not beating up on TJ Ward for it? He’s as much to fault for that non-tackle as Wright. Not saying that Wright is “the Man”; I’m just saying . . . Whom would we have played yesterday if Wright was “off the team”?
@12- to take it a point further (as I agree with you) what else did Wright do yesterday to get all this negative reaction? Barton and Ward BOTH could have made plays as well but couldnt do it. Either way, the browns lose or tie it doesnt matter for them. Would you have liked it more if Wright makes the tackle and Folk hits the GWFG? would you have liked a tie? it still leaves the browns at 3 wins and no where near playoff talk.
@bobby: I absolutely would have been happy with a tie over a loss yesterday, no question. To go through all of that just to have it go down as yet another L? Makes me nauseous.
About Robiskie, could the terrible stat line have something to do with the fact that he just isn’t being targeted? They seem to be targeting Watson on a ton of underneath stuff, trying to give Colt easy throws.
