This video is absurd. How do I know? Slider is totally lipsynching.

Donnie Delcs asks a simple question: Who is a better Browns return-man: Eric Metcalf or Joshua Cribbs?
—
Looking at the Browns’ current QB situation leads to the following somewhat dispiriting truth: If Delhomme struggles this season, fans will definitely be frustrated, but at least we shouldn’t have the same old “Anderson vs. Quinn” debates where it’s “pick your poison of horrible accuracy week” heading into every game. The Browns are starting fresh at quarterback with an old player, but we have an understanding of what his role is, and in the end, I think we can accept that knowing that a guy like Holmgren will eventually get the player he wants to become the face of the franchise. An excellent take on LeBron at this point in his career: “When you sit atop the totem pole, you’re not hard to find. There’s nowhere to hide. Some take pleasure in writing disparaging things about him, while others take pleasure in being an ‘I told you so’. But in looking at the bigger picture, his failures and his shortcomings aren’t entirely of his own doing. The problem is much bigger. Much deeper. Ask yourself this question. How can you do better if you don’t know better?” [Bryan Crawford/Slam Online]

Jay Mariotti gon’ do, what Jay Mariotti gon’ do. Warning: you might not be happy with life about this after reading it. Don’t worry. I’ve got a post for you at 1PM that will help you chill out and settle down your riot vein. [Fanhouse]

Not Cleveland-related per se (though he did run an ultra in Cleveland last fall), but ultramarathoner Scott Jurek set the American record for furthest distance covered in 24 hours yesterday – 165.28 miles (8:42 average pace per mile). Beast mode. [SeattlePiRun]

Thanks for this. I was reminded of the article in SI a couple of years ago that talked about Lebron’s visit to some elite basketball trainer, and how lebron ended up not hiring the guy. Lebron wasn’t nasty or anything to him, but the guy told lebron about the parts of his game that needed work, and lebron didn’t like that…
Hopefully he’ll a) sign here and b) take all this critique to heart…
I have third degree douche chills – that video is not ironic, not funny in the least bit, it is completely embarrassing. Tim Misny and Norton Furniture guy steal the show, however, having local politicians in this is insulting to the state. I think it is funny that our local “celebs” are all TV and radio personalities that NOBODY outside of NEO would recognize. If I was Lebron, I would leave Cleveland just out of the embarrassment alone.
Cribbs is the better return man, but Metcalf did provide me with my personal favorite Browns moment:

I’ve seen it a hundred times, and I still get goosebumps…
calling Jay mariotti a hack is about as big of an understatement as calling Lebron an “ok” basketball player
Nothing embarrassing about it. We need him. Our city will literally completely collapse if he goes, and the Cavs will be out of Cleveland in a few years following that. It’s a great vid.
sioux city kicks our asses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj7_E5Tpdhs
What you mean LeBron didn’t like someone criiquing his game? I’m shocked.
That is critiquing btw and I forgot to put it in sarcasm font.
@ JM – CRIIQUEY!
I’m serious when I say I think that video is funny and really touching. I think it perfectly encompasses what Cleveland is about.
I thought the video was hilarious.
