April 13, 2010A Chris Perez ninth inning away from being 3-3, the Indians head home to open up Progressive Field for the 2010 season. Hosting the Texas Rangers, the Tribe will look to improve off of their considerably unfavorable start in front of a sold out crowd.
Fausto Carmona (1-0, 4.50) takes the hill for the Wahoos while Rich Harden (0-0, 2.45) will go for Texas.Â
No Grady Sizemore today as No. 24 is still having a bout with back soreness. Michael Brantley will take his place in center field as well as the two-hole in the lineup. Austin Kearns will play in left. Fausto will have his work cut out for him with Vlad Guerrero and Nelson Cruz combining for five home runs and 12 RBI thus far. The entire Indians linuep combines for four home runs and 16 RBI thus far…

We are UNBREAKABLE (but not our bullpen)
Whats up with Grady? This gonna be serious?
god mlb.tv is so lame… thank god for channelsurfing.net
never mind they dont have it today! shucks
any way to watch this game online?
dont think i wont talk to myself in here. i love kearns and redmon getting on with 2 outs. if they can be productive today we have a good shot
Solid pitching from Carmona so far. His command has been much better today. What the heck just happened with Choo though? Why was he running when Hafner hit a pop up with one out?
Gotta love what Carmona has shown so far this season. He take a couple more starts to be dominating, but right now he’s looking very sharp and has good command of all his pitches.
ladies and gentleman, here comes the meltdown.
ugh, the amount of runs this team has given away already this season is making me sick! They are so frustrating to watch, but I keep watching!
I really think Valbuena is better suited to be a SS or something…he doesnt strike me as a quality 2B…
Hafner scares me trying to barrel over a catcher…his shoulder cant take that kind of blunt force trauma…
I can only watch on the Gamecast, so I’m curious. How did an error by the shortstop on a walk move Choo to third?
WALRUS SIGHTING!!!
Hafner… soooo sloooowwwwww. Good to see the Tribe battle Harden to get even. That 2-run rally for Texas was BS. Tom Hamilton was saying that the bunt that Redmond threw over to 3rd for the should-have-been-out was fair, but the umpire blew the call. That missed call opened the door for the rally.
@13 – ball four to hafner, choo was moving on the pitch…catcher threw down to second (was a full count and the pitch was close), the shortstop had the ball glance off his glove and the ball went into center, which allowed choo to advance to third…bizarre play…
DWiggles, Choo was stealing second, so the catcher made a throw to 2nd base. It ended up being a walk for Hafner so Choo got the free pass, but the 2nd baseman mishandled the throw from the catcher and Choo took advantage by moving to 3rd. I guess a walk is not a dead-ball situation, which I didn’t know.
Oops, I meant SS, not 2b who mishandled the throw.
@*#$)(*@#*$@# Peralta…god dangit…
@15 – ball was in the left handers batters box…it was in front of the plate, but in the batter’s box…therefore – deadball
@20 – are you watching the game? I am only listening on the radio, but Hamilton never mentioned that part. He just kind of left it as a missed call by the umpire, but didn’t reference it when recapping the runs scored by Texas in the inning.
Valbuena would swing on a pitch directly to the center fielder… that guy has zero plate discipline.
Chris Perez is out as closer after this…..
Chris Perez is out as closer after this…..
Jamey Wright, come on doooooooown
I love Tony Sipp. How did that work?
wow a 2 run homer…
These closers are real good đ
I’m “watching” the play-by-play online. Were the boo birds out tonight? Might as well give Dolan an earful on the one day you know he’s actually there.
We suck again.
95 more losses to go!
perez is garbage.
I wish our defense would stop GIVING the other team a win. We could have ONE loss if not for errors….
I was so hopeful for C Perez after his 2 saves in Chicago. One more outing like his past 2 and he’s off my fantasy team so fast. Nelson Cruz is way too beastly, 5 home runs already? One bad pitch ruined the game for us, after we worked so hard to hang in through 9 innings.
The inconsistency of Perez is already pissing me off. I hate to say this and I’m sure I will regret it but Woody please come back.
Spelled my own name wrong. S.O.B.
Another great April I thought Wedge was gone?
$7.75 for a beer? But the Dolan’s can’t afford to pay for any decent players?
Its $7.75 a beer!?!? Wow. I can buy two beers and watch the indians lose in person or a case of miller light at home and watch the indians lose with 3 of my buddies having 6 beers. Tough choice
As bad as Chris Perez has been, I have to blame our anemic offense for this loss. 2 runs in 9 innings just doesn’t cut it. How could they come to the plate after Tony Sipp pulls a miracle out of his #%@ to keep them in the game, then go 1-2-3 against a struggling Frank Francisco to force extra innings? Everyone not named Shin-Soo Choo owes me 40 sit-ups.
