Jamario Moon has been reduced to a cheerleader. A good one, but a cheerleader nonetheless. And so has Daniel “Boobie” Gibson . . . and while he’s no cheerleading superstar like Jamario (and rookie Danny Green), he’s still pretty excitable.
Whenever there’s an above-average play . . . even if it’s only marginally above-average . . . Jamario is probably doing something ridiculous on the sideline in front of the Cleveland Cavaliers bench. And if the team is playing flat, he can still be seen smiling, just waiting for the moment to explode. It’s that sort of energy, intensity and explosive tendency that’s hard to keep bottled on the sideline, especially when the team is sparklessly going through the motions.” [The Wine and Goldrush]

Not too shabby, Nick: “With the Indians playing tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the braintrust spent all morning watching their prospects on the minor-league fields. Players from throughout the organization were split into games — and the featured pitching matchup was Nick Hagadone vs. Kelvin De La Cruz. […] The mantra throughout camp on every field all spring has been “first-pitch strikes” and Hagadone obviously has heard it. He went 10-for-10 in getting immediately ahead of hitters. Hagadone averaged 94 mph for his 46 pitches over three innings, topping out at 96. He gave up two hits, one run and struck out five without a walk.” [Chuck Murr/Indians Ink]

There’s plenty of room aboard my Lonnie bandwagon: “Which brings us to Lonnie Chisenall, the one guy in Akron you should be watching this year and a player who’s already garnering some hefty praise around the league. A scout told Sports Illustrated’s Jon Heyman this spring that, “[Chisenhall’s] going to be a star. He’s a badass.” The scout also laid out a pretty nice player comparison — George Brett. Not bad. Not bad at all, especially for a guy just entering his third year of pro ball.” [Vinnie Grzegorek/’64 and Counting]

Gearing up for our mid-Spring Christmas: “From a fans perspective, the April draft comes with a great deal of excitement and numerous expectations. Many are looking at the stock pile of picks the team possesses and hope that in one fell swoop the organization can turn this thing around. Especially considering the depth of this year’s pool of players. With an average of two picks per round, the Browns can upgrade numerous areas on offense, defense and special teams as long as everyone within the organization from Holmgren down to the scouting staff understand what the goals are with each pick and where this team wants to be at drafts end.” [JP Norton/Browns Gab]

excellent points about the Brownies and the draft, but I think we will be seeing a couple of draft day trades…we are almost assured of taking a QB in the 2nd round…I would be completely shocked if Berry is available at 7 (which is looking more and more likely the way things are shaping up), and seeing as how I dont think Clausen is anything other than the second coming of Danny Wuerffel, I think it would be wise to snag McCoy in the second round, or Dan “I’ve got a LaFever…and the only cure…is more cowbell”. and yes i know thats not how its spelled…
Moon will serve a purpose in a potential playoff series vs. the Magic.
I also like the bit about hagadone…I think he will be a fantastic major leaguer…he’s solid as a rock…i think he projects much better than Knapp…but if one or either turns out to be a good pickup, I’ll be happy…(even though Lee won the cy-young, his abdomen strains always seemed to be problematic)
It’s not my mid-spring Christmas. OSU SPRING GAME LET’S GO!
@4- Do you buy tickets at the door for that?
@ 5 – i think you can. I know for sure you can get them through the athletic office ahead of time.
@ 4 & 5.. Columbus area McDonalds have been selling them in the weeks leading up to the game the last two or three years.
@6 – are they already on sale??
Let’s not forget that the Cavs will need their entire bench for the final games of the regular season. I highly doubt there will be anything to play for after a few games in April; and if things play out that way, it will leave Jamario and Boobie, Jawad, and Danny to clean up the scraps and keep the playoff-bound players from getting injured on the floor.
@9 If Mo Notti keeps playing like he is he should be playing because he certainly appears to need the work.
@10: let me see if I can interpret that thought:
“If Mo Williams keeps playing like he has been, he should continue to play during the final games of the season because he certainly appears to need the work.”
I believe that that is what you were aiming for.
OK, point taken.
