The 5-Hole: Blue Jackets News and Notes – 3/30/10
March 30, 2010Dwight Howard’s Sour Grapes Get Impressionistic

LeBron, Unplugged: “I want that arrogance. I want that supreme confidence. I want LeBron to admit he can do whatever the hell he wants on a basketball court. Could he average a triple double? Look at his numbers; he’s pretty much doing it already in the month of March (28.4 points, 8.8 assists, 8.2 rebounds). Could he win the next 10 scoring titles if that was his wish? Yes, and there aren’t enough Kevin Durant jumpers to convince me otherwise.
I love that I saw that from LeBron. I love that he was candid in a REAL way and not in some packaged, laminated product he was trying to push onto me.” [Zach Harper/Hardwood Paroxysm]

Depth versus need: “WR’s more than any other position on the field depend on their team mates doing their jobs. There is no way for me to factor this in. That being said, I think this is a pretty in depth look at drafting a WR. So, with all the holes that we have on this team, why should we risk the number seven pick on what at best looks like a 50-50 shot at becoming a solid starter for this team? Add in the fact that our QB situation is far from settled, it seems very unlikely that Dez Bryant would be a good pick with the seventh pick.” [Dawgs by Nature]

But what about Jake Locker this year? “Waiting for Locker involves too many variables. First, you’re assuming the Browns will go 2-14 next year to secure the No. 1 overall pick. What if they go 5-11 again or 8-8? Second, what if Locker has a down year and/or suffers a major injury next season for the Huskies? It would be foolish for Cleveland to try to predict everything that will happen a year from now when the team can attempt to improve the quarterback position in this year’s draft.” [James Walker/ESPN]

Hahaha.. What about Jake Locker THIS year?
what about ryan mallett?
@1 and 2
Why are we talking about this? WE’RE TRADING FOR TROY SMITH!
Anyone else able to get that HP link to load? I’m getting a blank webpage.
@Chris
Came up for me.
I really hope the Browns draft The Hurt this year. That would be great.
@ Denny.. You talkin about Frank Thomas? He could take Kam’s spot, I like it!
@7
When the White Sox signed Albert Belle back in Ninety-Whatever, my old boss said, “Now Chicago has The Big Hurt and The Big Pain.”
@ JK – no, I was talking about Mr Locker. I just call him “The Hurt” because of films, and such.
Ok then, can we draft Saundra Bullock’s son.. He could proably play OL for us rite?
@#2: I think Mallett is going to be a stud for the pro system
is it just me, or is there not much resemblance between sandra bullock and her son?
It’s just you.
@11 I’ve been on the Mallett bandwagon for a year I wish he’d have left school but he was smart. His stock should only increase with another year in college. Instead of wasting a draft pick on a project QB this year I’d have preferred the Browns to look to next years draft to help solve this problem.
Double www linkage for the Cleveland’s Hope post? I guess it was a decent post.
@ Frowns – no, sometimes things get double-linked after the weekend, and stuff.
