Blog Contest: The One on the Browns
March 24, 2010While We’re Waiting… Summer 2010, Brantley’s Ankle and NFL Free Agency
March 25, 2010New Orleans fans are happy that Chris Paul is back. Cleveland fans are happy that Zydrunas Ilgauskas is back. It’s a party!
The Cavaliers look to continue their solid play through the month of March in New Orleans against the Hornets (34-38). Obviously, the big news will be the return of Big No. 11, but by no means will the Cavs (56-15) be able to coast through this game like they did against the depleted Bulls this past weekend.
The last time these two teams locked up, a lot more people became familiar with rookie guard Marcus Thornton who went off for a career-high 37 points. New Orleans is also fresh off of a win against the very impressive Dallas Mavericks, showing that they’re even more improved with the return of Paul.
The game tips off at 8:00PM EST on Fox Sports Ohio as well as WTAM 1100AM. I will be featured on the pre-game show, slated to start at 7:30PM. Feel free to tune in a bit early and follow along in the comments. Oh, and please cast a few votes throughout the game… Every vote counts!
Go Cavs!

Welcome back Z!
Z!
Look for me. I’ll be the guy in section 311 getting his face socked in.
le sigh…. LeBron has ball 2ft from basket…kicks out and gets it back at the 3pt line. Jacks it up and misses.
19 points in the first quarter. I love when we can keep opponents under 20. I’m willing to bet that we have an excellent record when we hold them under for a quarter.
Jacob, get on that!
It’s great to see Z out there smiling and doing what he’s supposed to be doing again. Now, my life can only be complete by seeing him lace that nasty triple from the corner.
How can you not love D-West…man is money baby!!
Welcome back ZYDRUNAS.
i am having trouble finding a stream (i am in paris)…
whats the word on lebron? how hurt is he?
(and absolutely welcome back z. id have a beer for you but i brushed my teeth and im in bed its 2:15 am)
LeBron might sit the rest of this one. We’ll need Red to continue his aggressive play and Jamison to step up.
Windy reported an ankle sprain that didn’t look too serious.
thanks phil!
Meanwhile, Orlando has just elbowed their way back into their game with Atlanta. Minutes remain and the game is close. Would love to see the Hawks reduce the Cavs’ magic number to clinch in the East.
Update on Lebron : “LeBron appears to be OK, will start second half.”
Whew.
And the Hawks take it with a stuff in the final fraction of a second. Cavs can reduce their magic number in the East to 4 with a victory over the Hornets. There’s no looking back now.
wow did anyone see the end of the magic-hawks game? I’ve been switching back and forth between games and that ending was insane!! The last 30 secs were very entertaining and even more so because the hawks won and right John Schuhmann said that the Magic were “by far” the best team in the league on NBA.com
Also get ready to listen to all of ESPN saying that Boston is back, is the best team, and will go very deep into the playoffs….I do give Boston credit tho they have had a few good wins but this will open the flood gates for ESPN.
Wow, Boobie got some minutes! Err, I mean seconds.
Nice win. Z is back. And lets hope ClevelandSouth made it through the game without getting punched in the face.
Eastern Conference magic number is 4. What about overall?
Robbie: It’s still 8 as the Lakers are playing (but trailing to SA in the 2nd period).
Check that: the Cavs’ victory made it 7. Could be 6 by morning.
How did Delonte West compare to Anthony Parker tonight? 😉
The arguments supporting Parker look less convincing with every passing game. West? Tough as nails.
John Krolik had this to say: “Anthony Parker was also cold from deep, but I actually liked what he was doing. He didn’t force shots, made crisp passes when he got closed out on, and played solid defense. No three-point shooter can be on every game, but AP did the little things to make up for his bread-and-butter not being there.”
@ 24
That quote is nice and everything but AP has been in a funk for over a month now…not just this game.
@25: Yeah, well, that’s keeping things in perspective. Well, let’s at least cut him a little more slack. It’s not like we have a choice, anyway, since Brown doesn’t seem ready to make a move.
