No link… just a picture of Ray Lewis thanks to EDSBS. Yep, this Sunday, we get to face a guy who dresses like The Terminator in the middle of the week. Wonderful.

Bo Knows Conservative Play-Calling: “For twenty years Tressel has operated at a significant talent advantage relative to almost all of his peers. With the relative collapses of Michigan and Penn State—who has beaten OSU of late when the talent scales approach even—there has been no local program fit to challenge Ohio State recruiting star to recruiting star, and he’s rolled up conference championships and victories only to be smacked down when the big guys from elsewhere roll into town. Tressel is fixed in his ways and has not been challenged sufficiently to re-evaluate his philosophy. At this point it’s hard to imagine him doing so simply because of inertia. And the big games continue to roll by without victories. Tressel, at this point, is not a version of [Lloyd] Carr waiting to happen. He’s Bo Schembechler.” [Brian Cook/MGoBlog]

Rumors? We off that… “Cavs fans can go insane if they listen to everything between now and next summer, but this Nets scenario has been bizarre and outlandish since the start. It died down for a while, but this recent news about ownership has fanned its fire and has irresponsible journalists coming back for more like a starving kid on Thanksgiving Day. LeBron is a dream for teams like the Nets. For the Cavs, he’s a reality; and unlike the Nets, the Cavs have a championship to contend for and win in 2010.” [Cavalier Attitude]

About that whole Pronkville thing: “Precisely how sad does the career of Travis Hafner have to become before we stop mocking him with this now totally inappropriately named mezzanine section? Ever heard of “Huffland”? “AlexeiRamirezCove”? “OverbayBay”? No, because they don’t exist. A 15 HR hitter doesn’t get a deck named after him.” [Let’s Go Tribe]

So long to that monopoly known as Ticketmaster: “Starting Oct. 1, the Cavs and Quicken Loans Arena will no longer do business with Ticketmaster, the team announced Wednesday. The two companies settled a lawsuit in June that Ticketmaster brought against the Cavs and FlashSeats, a company owned by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert that aims to control the secondary market on Cavs tickets.” [Cleveland.com]

And finally, a question I read on Twitter late yesterday: Who scores more points – the Browns through all 16 games, or the Cavaliers through their first three? Discuss amongst yourselves.

cavs score more through 2 i say
I agree with kunal
Love that the Cavs are ditching ticketmaster. Gilbert is a genius when it comes to business
What round was Ray Lewis picked in?
First round, Isis.
Thanks Chris. I thought it was top of round two, looks like it was end of round one. In either case, points to the importance of nailing value at those respective points. I top of round 2 pick is almost like a first round pick.
“…Penn State—who has beaten OSU of late when the talent scales approach even…”
Maybe Brian of MGoBlow should do his research. 2 wins out of the last 7 games does not support his point.
Using the pick the Browns had traded in the 1995 draft to the 49ers (which they used on the immortal JJ Stokes).
Cavs will outscore the Browns and will win a regular season game before them.
I don’t want to agree, but I do. Cavs will outscore entire Browns season in first two games.
Who will win a game first, Browns or Lions?
Boom-outstanding call on #8 above, wow!
“Who will win a game first, Browns or Lions?”
I wouldn’t count out DET against the ‘Skins this week…
Who will win a game first, Browns or Cavs?
The rate the Browns are going, the Cavs will outscore them in ONE game!
I will venture to say LEBRON will outscore the entire Browns season in 3 games!
Isis- when was Quinn picked? Why arent you on him for not making a huge impact? Nah, lets complain about 2nd round rookies this year.
ray lewis should still be in jail for murder
@DCBucks #7: Reading comprehension. When the talent was close, PSU won.
In 2005 & 2008, PSU and OSU had similar W/L records; in both years, PSU won. Every other year of Tresseldom, PSU had at least three more losses than OSU (and it was even worse in the first couple of years, when PSU was a B10 doormat). I would assume the same stands up when looking at returning starters and/or recruiting classes, but I don’t have the time to look up the info, sorry.
So: as Brian said, when they’re playing as roughly equals, PSU’s beaten OSU.
How about the fact that there is a good chance the Indians and Browns aren’t going to combine for as many wins as the Cavs did last season. Says a lot for the Cavs, and very little for the Tribe and Brownies.
