Brady Quinn Must Prove Himself…Starting Today
September 20, 2009While We’re Waiting… Browns Fans React, Week 3 Blogpoll, and Jim Tressel > Pete Carroll
September 21, 2009The Cleveland Browns travel to Denver today to take on the Broncos. This is definitely a game that should be winnable for either team as both struggled in Week 1 and have not established identities. It is a huge game for the Browns who travel to Baltimore next week. It would be devastating to start the year 0-3 for the second straight season. Eric Mangini had a rough week and was hammered in the media for a variety of off the field issues. Let’s see how he and his team respond today.
Join us in the comments this afternoon as we follow our beloved Browns.
UPDATE: James Davis is inactive for the Browns and as expected, Knowshon Moreno is active for the Broncos.

This is Art Model’s fault. We wouldn’t be in this situation if he didn’t move the team.
Also, time for Randy to admit he hates us and sell.
Help us, Dan Gilbert, you’re our only hope!
just got home from the game – that was unreal miserable. honestly, they’re going 0-16 this year. you can start joe montana-brady-toothelssburger-unitas…it don’t matter – they suck. alex mack is a joke, massaqoui and that terd from OSU are worthless as are those bumbs from michigan and kent.
oh well – hopefully they draft crabtree this time around…or teebow
I was at the stadium. It was awful. My saving grace is that Denver fans are a mostly classy bunch.
@ # 101 – Lerner doesn’t hate us all. Because there are plenty of dumb suckers who pay to watch this abomination of a team. He loves the fans’ money, and I suppose the fans (by extension).
It’s halftime of the Sunday night game.
I still hate Randy Lerner… but a bit less cause the Cowgirls are losing. Don’t know why that helps… but it does.
Nice…. Olberman is making “Who’s Johnson is bigger” jokes about the Titans/Texans game.
I thought was “too smart” to do sports. Now he’s making dick jokes and playing the gimp to Dan Patrick’s carnival barker act.
At least Dungy gives them dignity by just being there and Rodney Harrison can kill them all with on tackle if need be.
And yet once again I must ask…
Why didn’t we just draft Mark Sanchez?
Like Sanchez would somehow make the lack of any blocking on the right side, any running game, no wide receivers go away, and horrible playcalling go away…
QB is a problem. But this team’s main problem is that they have NO ROSTER DEPTH WHAT SO EVER. Blame whomever you must for that. I watched the end of the San Diego game, and they were missing TWO starting O-linemen against one of the best defenses in the league, not to mention their HoF running back, and they STILL had a chance to win the game at the end if not for a stupid play call by Norv Turner.
There’s no way the Browns are anywhere CLOSE to having and NFL-caliber roster.
Calm down…we do play Detroit this year.
i am convinced that the running game could be fixed with a down field threat passer. And Brady had a TON of time to make throws out there. there were so many times when he held onto the ball for 5+ seconds. its like hes waiting for Jeff Samardzija to become wide open against Navy. Now, I will say the St. Clair was getting beat like a drum, but there were a lot of holes that were filled or temporarily replaced this offseason because of the mess Savage left with giving out bonuses for nothing. I feel like with a QB that would pass the ball the play calling might look better, though I agree they need to get runs to the left outside a lot more often. Lastly, the WRs are good enough for the NFL. Furrey is a possession guy that is not being utilized like he did in preseason. Massaquoi should be the #2 WR because he has potential to be big. Cribbs should be a RB/ Reggie Bush type player, because thats what he is.
Also, what happened to all the screens and hb flats that we saw in preseason. Lets get some skill guys the ball in open field.
I totally disagree, bobby. We have NO wide receivers. DA was a threat in 2007 because we had Edwards at the “top of his game” (I use air quote liberally, there), a sure-target in Jurevicius underneath, a Pro Bowl TE, and a solid o-line across the board. We have NONE of those things right now. I agree with you that the 2007 team had success running by passing first to open it up, but the talent on that team was completely different than this year’s team.
@#111 – there, we do agree. That’s another knock I have against Doboll right now. The running game is not working. Make the defense pay for getting upfield so quickly for once.
