While We’re Waiting… The Long Cleveland Indians Season, Varejao Gets a Gold Medal, and Terrelle Pryor on Mike Vick
September 7, 2009Terrelle Pryor Might Have Started the Apocalypse
September 7, 2009Two relatively big moves to announce for today.
Per Indians media relations:
The Cleveland Indians today announced they have recalled Lou Marson from AAA Columbus. Marson will wear #30 and becomes the 31st member of the Major League roster.
Marson, 23, has split most of the 2009 season at the Triple A level between AAA Lehigh Valley & AAA Columbus in the International League where he has hit at a combined .277 (87-314) with 18 doubles, 2HR & 33 RBI in 91 games (42RS, 40 walks, .361 on-base%). Lou was acquired along with 4 others from the Philadelphia Phillies on July 29. With Columbus he hit .243 (25-103) in 28 games.
And per the Browns media relations:
The Cleveland Browns today signed the following six players to the practice squad: DB Brandon Anderson, LB Titus Brown, RB Chris Jennings, WR Lance Leggett, OL Pat Murray and DL Brian Schaefering.
Marson was the third-highest prospect for Philly coming into this season, any may very well be the starting catcher come next year until Carlos Santana gets the call. Jennings really turned a few heads against the Bears last week, albeit against a back-up defense. He will provide depth at a position that is definitely in question in terms of the future.

I gotta appreciate the Browns signing Chris Jennings. He was a hard worker for the football team at the University of Arizona, and caught some nice passes from Willie Tuitama for us.
Can players switch between the active roster to practice squad? so would they be able to switch jennings and peerman during the season?
“Cedric Peerman is known as a smart, great character guy and is an ordained Deacon”…..ESPN Post-Draft.
Great, another “smart” pickup for the all-mensa team.
I’m really astounded at your disdain for having smart football players on this team. If you want a team of moron athletes that don’t get the intricacies of football you can root for the Bengals and the Raiders.
EZ……..therefore you get Brian Robiskie instead of any number of athletes available at the top of round 2 (Ray Mal for example). Has nothing to do with being a moron, has all to do with being obsessed with a profile at the expense of talent. Observe.
Yes. Players can be moved to the active roster. Steve Sanders was n example of this last season.
If I recall the deal with practice squad players is that you can “call them up” but you can’t “send them down.” Once they’re on the main roster, if they are released, they must clear waivers.
