Can Harrison be This Week’s Royal?
September 17, 2009While We’re Waiting… LeBron James Book Signing, Russian Funding, and more Jim Tressel
September 18, 2009While he will likely be fielding countless offers throughout the NBA, LeBron James will be spending next offseason on set.
Brian Grazer (of 8 Mile fame) is producing a movie titled “Fantasy Basketball Camp,” and the film will feature none other than our own No. 23. Though the character he will be playing may not be all too hard to reign in from an acting standpoint…
The Cavaliers superstar and reigning NBA MVP will make his feature film debut by playing himself in an upcoming comedy.
James will appear in “Fantasy Basketball Camp” by Universal Pictures. The movie is about five guys from different backgrounds who go to Las Vegas to live out their fantasy by attending James’ basketball camp. Production will begin next summer — when James can become a free agent.
Grazer claims that James’ work on Saturday Night Live coupled with his various commercial spots have led him to believe that the MVP can get the job done on the silver screen. This summer has been all about More Than a Game. Next year, James will make the jump from documentary to full length comedy. Naturally, James – along with Maverick Carter – will have production rights on the film.

I wonder if I can land a role in the flick. And while Lebron sleeps, I can place subliminal thoughts in his head to stay in Cleveland.
Here’s what needs to happen to make this movie watchable: LeBron needs to convince Shaq to reprise his role as Neon Boudreaux, the raw but undeniably talented Louisiana Center who left Western after the point shaving incident. Only now, it’s 14 years later and after 12 years as an NBA journeyman and 2 seasons in Spain where he was reunited with Buch McCray, Neon is now back in the US working as a counselor at James’ Fantasy Camp. Tell me you wouldn’t pay to see the hijinx ensue. You could even have Matt Nover come back as Ricky Roe, the overbearing father pushing his son to have the career that he so foolishly threw away.
Tearjerker . . . laugh riot . . . this movie could have it all.
THIS MEANS THAT LEBRON IS GOING TO L.A.!! TELL KOBE TO MOVE OVER, THERE’S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN!!
