Jackets Playoff Push Update – 4/5
April 5, 2009Cleveland Indians Offensive Production Analysis
April 5, 2009The Cavs are looking to turn this thing around on Sunday vs the San Antonio Spurs. Follow along here as the Cavs look to do it even more short-handed than normal as Anderson Varejao sits out with a bruised wrist. Darnell Jackson gets the start to keep Joe Smith coming off the bench. Who knows? We might even see Hickson or Lorenzen Wright today.
Go Cavs.
Oh yeah, and the Cavs were able to get insurance to pay Eric Snow’s contract this year, and now he has been officially dropped from the Cavs’ roster.

Why in the world is Boobie guarding Parker? Wake up Brown!
Did Andy get hurt in the Magic game? I stopped watching after the first few minutes of the third quarter. Too disgusted…
It was pretty fun to see Oscar Robertson on the broadcast on tv. LeBron took over in the first, then sat for five and a half minutes in the second and the lead ballooned from 1 to 11. Go figure, that screws up his +/-
Jon Barry arguing against Lebron James for MVP makes me angry.
The +/- of the record looks like it might stop going the wrong way though.
“Jon Barry arguing against Lebron James for MVP makes me angry.”
It’s like he refuses to acknowledge the fact that he’s the best in the NBA.
Jon Barry is incredible. It seems like he never has anything positive to say about LeBron. How can people still say DWade is MVP when last year the same argument went against LBJ?
This is why I normally don’t watch their halftime shows… too much anger
LeBron is 9-12 for 26 points at halftime. Unbelievable to see him do this against one of the best defenses in the league.
Stat of the day: Cavs were 23rd in the league in offensive points in the paint before the acquisition of Joe Smith. They currently stand at 26th in this category. Any explanation?
Lebron just had a slam dunk. Cavs with some good downcourt passes.
with the dunk and a little point to BQ sitting right under the hoop
Anyone else having very bad frame rate on the game? It looks like it’s in strobe motion right now here.
Boobie has one rebound and three fouls in almost 18 minutes. Why why why is he playing?
nope mine’s fine, but i’m not in cleveland so i’m getting a different feed
and if lebron would play like he has on D in this 3rd quarter the whole game every game he would get DPOY without a sweat
Bonner = Varejao on that play… what a dive…
Delonte has really been an x-factor tonight. His 12 points have come at the perfect times.
Oh Tirico, nice camping joke.
Three ball for LeBron! Twenty points with four left BALL GAME!
Hickson sighting
20 point win over the Spurs w/o Andy after two embarassing losses = HUGE relief
Dallas scored 100 points with 4 minutes left in the THIRD QUARTER… PHX defense FTL…
Dallas is shooting nearly 60% from both the field and behind the arc. That’s just good offense and terrible defense all rolled into one.
@ Denny- I’m glad you mentioned that slow framerate business. The HD feed from the Cleveland affiliate on TW Cable was lousy all day during both games. I was hoping it wasn’t just me seeing that. It looked like the old NFL Films slow-mo replay effect.
Yea I was watching on Comcast in MD. ABC HD. Just looked terrible, really frustrating. Seemed to get better around the end of the third quarter.
Taking Joe Smith out of the mix, and the bench put up a grand total of 0 points in 48 minutes of glorious fail. At least TK got in with a minute left to log his trillion.
And that’s all on Brown for sticking with heavy minutes for the three headed craptastic suckfest that is Boobie, Wally and Sasha (granted with AV and Wallace out, someone has to play).
But for crissake, there needs to be an investigation into why TK doesn’t get playing time when the Cavaliers could use his hustle and gritty play (something they could have desperately used this past week). Every time he’s on the floor, it seems like he’s doing something positive. Seriously, WTF did TK do to Brown to earn a permanent seat at the end of the bench?
And Carl Monday is not allowed on the job.
TK NK?
When LeBron hits at least 2 threes, the Cavaliers average 100.68 points while allowing 93.45 points with a 29-9 record in 38 games. Diff = +7.23
When LeBron fails to hit two threes, the Cavaliers average 99.05 points while allowing 88.87 points with a 33-6 record in 39 games. Diff = +10.18
LeBron shoots more threes on the road, and the Cavaliers lose more games on the road. Although he is a much improved three point shooter this season, and especially of late, the Cavaliers are a better overall team when he is pounding inside the paint instead.
In fact, when LeBron attempts four threes or fewer, the Cavaliers are 35-4 with a diff of +13.10. When he does attempt at least four threes the Cavaliers are 27-11 with a diff of +4.24. Quite a big difference there.
Jacob, can you see the future in numbers like Nicholas Cage?
@Denny, same here with the ABC feed on Verizon FIOS. It was craptacular.
It was so bad, at one point it looked like Boobie’s shots were actually going IN the hoop.
100% agree with you Steve.
