Browns Mum on Donte Stallworth Situation
March 14, 2009Lenny Barker’s Perfect Game – The Musical
March 15, 2009Wow. After scraping past Wisconsin yesterday, not only did the Buckeyes upset the Michigan State Spartans today, but they handily defeated them. Going in nearly a double-digit underdog, Evan Turner’s second half provided the 12-point win for the Scarlet and Gray as they head into the conference finals to play the winner of Purdue/Illinois.
As I mentioned in a response to the guys at Eleven Warriors (via Twitter), I think Ohio State would be able to win the rubber match against the Boilermakers.
Illinois guard and assists/steals leader Chester Frazier is slated to miss the rest of the tournament with a hand injury. Perhaps both Purdue and Ohio State could capitalize on this one.
Some numbers to mention:
– Evan Turner’s 18 points all came in the second half. He also added 10 boards, five assists, a steal and two blocks.
– Michigan State guard, and Big Ten Player of the Year, Kalin Lucas scored 17, but only managed one assist while turning it over twice.
– Jon Diebler was big from downtown, draining five of his 10 three-point shots to finish with 17 points of his own.
– And we had a B.J. Mullens sighting, as the big man notched 12 points and two blocks in 15 minutes off of the bench.
A big win, no doubt. Let’s keep it going through tomorrow and on to the NCAA tournament.

Awesome, Go Bucks!
MSU looked pretty bad today, couldn’t hit any open jumpers or finish in the paint, and also let didn’t put hands in the faces of shooters. If OSU wasn’t already guaranteed a birth before today, they certainly are now, and probably now have a seed that will give them a chance at a win or two
Yeah, MSU had a terrible day shooting. Spartans lose their #1 seed chances and OSU has to have earned a bid.
Keep it up Bucks! FEAR THE ROO!!! THE ZIPS ARE GOING DANCING!!!
I think before the Zips go dancing you should be sure that all your signs are spelled correctly. Like “We don’t thow things”. Fix simple abnormalities like these and then lets talk.
The only thing that’s consistent about this Buckeyes team, is that they’re inconsistent. We looked awful against Wisconsin but they looked worse, but we looked solid against MSU despite the 14 or 15 turnovers. Spartans shot something like in the high 30% range? I’m a die-hard Buckeye fan, but they didn’t prove anything to me yesterday.
We still can’t rebound.
After watching just about every Buckeyes’ game this year, I think I can safely say that, on any given night, the Bucks can beat just about any team. Additionally, on any given night, they can also lose to any team. Turner is inconsistent, and if none of the other guys decide to show up, we’re toast. If the team we’re shooting can make their 3’s against the zone, we’re also toast. Now I’m hungry… I think I’m going to have some… toast. With jelly.
Definitely meant “team we’re playing” and NOT “team we’re shooting.” Not sure what got into me there…
OSU, Akron, and Cleveland State going to the dance? Say it ain’t so!
