Jackets Preview Game #50
January 31, 2009While We’re Waiting…Chris Bosh Trade Rumors?
February 2, 2009Good afternoon folks. So, if you are watching the Cavs game then this is a really really late open thread. If you are gearing up for “The Big Game” tonight, then it is a really early open thread. A lot of the WFNY guys are popular in social circles and won’t be available to post during “The Big Game.” I, on the other hand, am not really all that cool in the real world. Some of you don’t find me cool on the Internets either, but I digress. I will be home eating buffalo chicken dip, drinking Magic Hat #9 beer and typing away with the rest of you fellow losers.
Without further ado, I say Go Cavs, and Go Cards! See you in the comments or on Twitter. WFNYCraig is the name.

For a team to to win today like they did where the couldn’t close out a game to save there life how many times in the last two years, it was nice to see Detroit lose like there fifth straight at home (or however many it was)
It is amazing to see the impact of Zydrunas Ilgauskas on this team. Sure he started off 1-10 from the court, but his two three’s came at critical times of the game, and he was a big force for the Cavaliers in the fourth. Great win, great fourth quarter. Cavs now have Toronto, New York, the Lakers (at home) Indiana, and Phoenix (at home) left before the All-Star break. I think it is possible for this team to win out, and head into the break with a phenomenal 42-9 record.
Well, it wasn’t pretty, but you can’t ever take a win over the Pistons for granted no matter their record since the AI trade.
Anyone see the “Asterisk” steroids commercial?
I hate commercials with a moral message. All of them.
I still haven’t forgiven Jennifer Hudson for the “Dreamgirls” debacle. That was about two hours of cinematic torture. They ruined Motown by taking it to Broadway.
She sings like crazy though. This is an amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
Very happy that Al Micheals and Madden are here rather than , oh, say, Joe Buck on Fox.
Breaston with the 1st down. DP is smiling somewhere.
This is one of those uncomfortable moments where I am typing a comment and wondering if I am just going to be talking to myself the entire evening. I am three beers in, so it could start getting less coherent.
While I’m not rooting for Pitt at all… that INT return just won me big time in some Squares.
The Boss is not going to be able to beat out Prince for greatest halftime show I have ever seen. Purple Rain in the rain still does it for me, no matter how badly Springsteen butchers Born to Run.
Think about the play that just occured before the end of the half. Cards driving, 1st and goal, about to take the lead heading into halftime. Then bang. The superbowl record for yardage in a play by a linebacker of the damn squeelers. Only in Pittsburgh. I dare someone to try to convince me of a play of that same caliber in the Browns history since the superbowl replaced the championship game. When are plays like that gonna start goin our way instead of always being the victim to them.
it was pretty darn good craig
Eh. The band was good, but Bruce wasn’t singing very well in my view. Plus all the hackery like the gospel choir and the referee bit? Oof.
wooooooooooo larry!!!!!!
Well, folks… take a long look. This is what Browns fans have to look forward to when they win the Super Bowl next season! 🙂
Did they not review that? that’s a trrible way to end the game if they didn’t
i think im done with football forever
Game was horribly officiated. Just flat out horrible.
A kid from Kent State, a kid from Miami Ohio and a kid from Ohio State lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Superbowl title. Define irony. i mourn with all of cleveland tonight.
Ugh
Wow. You don’t understand how bad I wanted to stand outside of Tampa International tomorrow with a big sign that said something very unpleasing to Steelers fans.
If they would have lost.
Lamar Odom is an unrestricted free agent this coming off-season, and the Lakers will likely be unable to hold on to him because of the new $10 increase from Andrew Bynum’s rookie contract. The Lakers salary number for this current season is about the same as it will be for next year, meaning their chances of resigning Odom and super back-up Trevor Ariza are slim to none.
The Cavaliers would probably be able to snag the 29-year-old, 10-year NBA veteran to a 3-year-deal worth around $24 million or so. Unlike his current role with the Lakers, where he is the third or fourth option on offense every time he is on the court, he would instantly become our top post presence alongside LBJ. Z only has one more year left in his current contract (an option for the 2009-2010 season) and his inside game is rapidly deteriorating. Ben Wallace can’t score, and what better mentor for J.J. Hickson than a solid do-it-all veteran like Lamar Odom.
I think the Cavaliers should hold on to all of their assets, not worry about resigning Anderson Varejao, and focus their offseason efforts on signing Odom, drafting some prospects, and remaining healthy. What do you say WFNY world?
“because of the new $10 million increase from Andrew Bynum’s rookie contract.”
Odom is soft as a twinkie. No thanks.
I like it at first glance, but I will have to think about it. I like the idea of adding Odom, but I don’t know how I like subtracting Anderson. Of all the big men to unload, it might be nice to find a way to keep Varejao. I never would have said that coming into this season, but he has really found ways to improve his overall game.
Jacob………don’t want Lamar Odom, he is a career underachiever. The guy has loads of talent, but he plays with little passion. He doesn’t show up every night-he’s not someone to be counted on. He’s looking at the downside of a mediocre career…….I’ll keep the cap space for an impact player, thank you.
I’m getting really tired of all this talk about Kurt Warner and how he overcame the horrible life of being a supermarket stock boy, and Ben Roethseleislesilberger and how he has overcome the horrible life of being a post-op transexual.
How about stories about real people with real problems LIKE TYPE 1 FREAKING DIABETES???????????
At least Brenda Warner decided to ditch the bull-dyke haircut. That makes her incessant blabbering mouth about .05% more tolerable.
Jay Cutler………great stuff!!
Now is the winter of our discontent
#18) Nick, Yeah, you hit it right, me too. That’s how I feel too.
