Hallelujah! Pitchers and Catchers Report Today
February 12, 2009Coast To Coast
February 12, 2009With the unemployment rate at a considerably high figure and the Browns not exactly coming off of a solid 2008 campaign, Randy Lerner and company have decided to keep ticket prices right where they are for the upcoming season.
Thanks to The OBR, we get word from team President, and press conference introduction specialist, Mike Keenan.
“After careful consideration, we decided not to change our ticket pricing for the upcoming season. We hope that this, along with the introduction of new payment options, will ensure an affordable product and provide our fans with greater flexibility when they purchase their 2009 season tickets.”
Given the current economic environment, the team has given season ticket holders a few new options this season including installment plans as well as extended payment deadlines. From a pricing standpoint, the Browns currently boast the second-lowest average ticket cost in the entire NFL. Despite league pressure to keep costs in line with other teams, the consistent sell-outs have allowed for some more consumer-friendly price points.
No word on if there will be any inflationary pricing forced on to concession items.

I guess you get what you pay for…
i keep getting this feeling that we could be seeing (or not seeing) some “blackout” games this year. Truly sad…. HOW BOUT THEM CAVS!!!!
Boomhauer wins.
Any word on ticket refunds from last year? We should pay per touchdown…
Viva la Viagogo.
Last year? How about last decade.
Sadly I think I am done. Haven’t decided yet.
Yeah that makes two of us (at least). Although I’m sure I’m not getting them again.
Isn’t there some kind of clause when you win 33% of your games that you have to drop your ticket prices?
No? Well there should be.
Having said that, Browns games are too expensive. Take a family down to the game, worry about your kids being berated by drunken jerks, and pay close to $400 for the whole experience. I’ll pass.
of course, I’m the drunken jerk I’m talking about… and I have no kids. Still:
one good seat
parking
tailgating beer
pre-game beer
1st quarter beer
2nd quarter beer
halftime beer
3rd & 4th quarter beers (gotta get ’em NOW)
post-game bar crawl
taxi/DUI
it adds up quick.
Man you guys whine a lot. If you don’t like the prices don’t go. Since when has sports become something so fickle for fans? I have a good suggestion – cheer for the red wings, steelers, phillies and the UFC – then you have nothing to worry about except the guilt of being a passenger on the bandwagon. Cheers
