Readers of my work know that nothing frustrates me more than Browns talk in the midst of the greatest Cavs season of all time, as well as Spring Training for the Tribe. But in the wake of the Shaun Rogers wants out because the new regime has snubbed him chatter, I thought I had to bring this second piece of interesting Browns news to your attention.
According to ProFootballTalk.com, GM George Kokinis and coach Eric Mangini are allegedly “luke-warm” on supposed QB of the future Brady Quinn. Now while this is clearly only a rumor (who knows if this is indeed true), it brings up an interesting quandary. What if Kokinis and Mangini do choose to go with DA over Quinn? Can you keep Brady here happy as a backup, or is he the one who could draw more trade interest from QB starved teams such as Kansas City, Detroit, or San Francisco?
Maybe the two newbies are smarter than we think they are, and this is a way to drum up trade interest in Anderson. If they do want to deal DA, wouldn’t it make sense to inflate his worth as much as they can in an effort to get maximum value? Or is it possible that they, like the regime before them, as well as all of us during the 2007 season (admit it, you thought he was great at one point during that season), are wowed by his big arm?
Or do they have a trick up their sleeve? This was mentioned by in yesterday’s WWW by Scott, but could Kokinis and Mangini be so disenchanted with both QB’s, that they are eyeing USC’s Mark Sanchez at the #5 spot in the draft? Sanchez was a surprise interview subject at the NFL scouting combine earlier this week. Could they be enamored with the Man of Troy? Nothing would shock me.
The real news for our esteemed commenter RandyOSU is that in this piece, it says the “ManKok” nickname is now spreading throughout the NFL circles.
