Could Cavs Land Antawn Jamison for Wally Szczerbiak?

February 17, 2009In 2005, Antonio Henton was on top of the world. He led his high school team to a state championship. Recruited heavily by Ohio State, Henton was a three-star quarterback looking to make a splash at the next level. He wowed the coaches as a freshman, but the team opted to redshirt him to allow for future growth. It was not like he was going to pass up would-be Heisman winner Troy Smith for the starting gig.
But when 2007 rolled around, it was time for Henton to vie for the starting role. Instead, he was found on the wrong side of a sexual solicitation arrest. Attempting to court an undercover cop is never the best way to move up the depth charts. Alas, the charges were dismissed but Henton was still suspended by the team.
The ultimate result of said charges? Todd Boeckman was Ohio State’s starting quarterback, and Rob Schoenhoft was deemed the back-up with Joe Bauserman taking over the role of the third quarterback.
The following June, Henton opted to head back home where he would transfer to Georgia Southern. Taking three years of eligibility with him, the quarterback had a considerably solid 2008 season. But while Henton was hoping to pluralize the “season,” the Macon Georgia News is now reporting that he may be heading to Albany State. It appears that he isn’t one for competition, as the presence of one Lee Chappele has made Henton a bit uneasy.
Henton led the Eagles in rushing with 628 yards and scored nine touchdowns while helping engineer four fourth-quarter comeback wins for the Eagles (6-5).
Despite those glowing accomplishments, Henton was going to have to battle Chapple for the starting job when spring football starts March 2.
Chapple was a highly regarded recruit coming out of Greater Atlanta Christian and was considered one of the jewels of Hatcher’s first recruiting class.
Injuries sustained by Chappele resulted in more time for Henton. Now with the other QB healed and ready to go, Henton isn’t a huge fan of having to earn his playing time at this point in his career. The Georgia Southern Eagles only recruited one quarterback this past off-season, so they appeared set to roll with Henton and his colleague. If Antonio decides to transfer, it is safe to say that this may hurt the depth that Georgia Southern thought they once had.

Obviously this guy isn’t bound for the NFL, I would assume, so just stay at one college, finish your career and get an EDUCATION!
Well hell have a job at the arena league level……oh wait…….MAYBE NEXT YEAR?!
CFL?
He did a lot of good things for us, however, he also killed us with some of his decisions. If he can temper his ablity, he would have been a good one.
