Cavaliers Preview Game #34
January 7, 2009WFNY Podcast #12
January 7, 2009First things first, tonight at 8:30 pm we are bringing back the podcast. We have a very important show tonight, as we are extremely pleased to welcome back Barry McBride from The OBR. Barry will join us to talk about what’s going on with the Browns front office and the coaching situation, as well as any other topics that are important to cover. Here’s where things are a little different. We are now using a new format for our podcasts, and you guys can follow along live as the show streams on the internet, and you can even call in and if we have time, we’ll take some calls. If you have any questions ahead of time that you would like us to ask Barry, please email us at podcast@waitingfornextyear.com. The link to follow our podcast live is here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/wfny/2009/01/08/Waiting-For-Next-Year-Podcast-01072009. We want to encourage as much participation as possible, so please join us, listen, and feel free to send in questions or to even call in.
Now, for the second announcement, this one is much less exciting, but WFNY now has a MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/wfny. While I’m not entirely sure about all the ways we will use this yet, I am running through some ideas in my head, so those of you who have MySpace pages, check us out and add us as a friend.

Isn’t it so sweet that Yardbarker has decided to advertise Steelers Shirts on thier ads on here… way to rub salt in our wounds Yardbarker
sweet move with the myspace. i’ll add you guys once i get off work. you think maybe we can get up to the minute Cavs updates during the podcast?
it’s official! Mangini is in. 4 yr deal
Hold your horses…if Chris Mortensen is reporting it, it’s likely to be incorrect. That guy is the worst reporter in sports.
Who do we trust then Bambino? Mort is everywhere we turn on the ESPN family networks. Even the radio!! How bout the mighty midget John Clayton?
….He looks tiny on tv at least…
TRUST NO ONE JJ!!! NO ONE I TELL YOU!!!
Sorry my bitter hatred of the WWL consumes me sometimes.
its soooo official press conf tomorrow morning
Wake me in 3 years when we’re hiring our next coach. Lerner has now proven he has no business owning an NFL team. We’re getting our second helping of pre-Super Bowl Belichek.
I was reading the comments over at ProFootballTalk.com and other than the plentiful bashing (3-1 ratio of bashing so far) the others are saying that Mangini had 2 out of 3 winning seasons. They are also saying that he would still be there if Brett Favre hadn’t showed up.
Finally, if you care, Terry Pluto is backing the move right now.

I will reserve judgment for now. I hope he introduces some discipline and gameplanning. Also, I am hoping he hires some really good coordinators. That is all any of us can really do, I guess. I thought Butch Davis was a good movie, so what do I know?
movie = move… I shouldn’t have had that 3rd beer tonight… 🙂
Oh, and go listen to the podcast now, people. I am quite sure that there will be a lot of good Browns Convo tonight…
I am very disturbed that this came so soon though. in the Mort. report on ESPN he says that miami, baltimore, and atlanta all waited 3-4 weeks before hiring. he says that detroit, new york, and denver will wait probably 3-4 weeks. WHY DOES LERNER FEEL HES SMARTER THEN ALL THOSE TEAMS? no one had even interviewed mangini. Im not going to say that he will suck, but there was no need to hurry. I dont feel that lerner made the best move by any means by hiring coach before GM. i dont see where that makes sense. this situation may turn out good, but if it does its because of sheer luck.
3 WHOLE beers craig? impressive..
