12 Days- Almost Finished…
December 22, 2008I Love Lamp?
December 22, 2008Full-time outfielder and part-time jet-setter Grady Sizemore has been lassoed by Uncle Sam. Or would it be Uncle Doubleday? Either way, the recent 30/30 producer will be heading to the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
Typically, I’m not a fan of players from my rooting interests playing in extracurriculars. I’ve seen what’s happened to Pau Gasol, Manu Ginobili and countless others. I was firmly in the camp that didn’t want Zydrunas Ilgauskas in the recent Olympics. However, a part of me thinks that baseball may be a bit different than hoops – as long as you can avoid getting a heater to the helmet.
As of now, Sizemore is the only Indian that will be playing. I’m banking on the fact that Venezuela actually watched Rafael Betancourt this past year, and hoping that Victor Martinez wisely chooses to ensure full health. We’ll see how that works out.
